If you have not seen the magic of making a bagalope, then schedule a workshop today! This is a really fun and easy project that you can use not only for Christmas, but for birthday favours and any small gift item.
Our Whisper White and Very Vanilla envelopes have the same ultra-smooth finish on them that the Whisper White and Very Vanilla card have, designed specifically for stamping to give a crisp, clean finish. And by the way, there is a misprint in the catalogue. The catalogue states you receive 20 for 12.95, but in fact you receive 40 for that price.
Enjoy Every Moment is a great stamp set, not only for project like this, but a super one for scrapbooking pages. Not that I have one made up yet, but will do over the Christmas break! I have also used my markers (on special for just a few more hours!) and just coloured the JOY in this word to use as a Christmas sentiment.
This is one I cased right off the net. Unfortunatley, I failed to save the link or the original artist, so I must apologize to her for that. But it's a stunning design; she's a genius!
I have fallen head over heels in love with this bird . . . we are told that all mini catalogue items will be deleted end of November, but there is a teeny tiny chance it will end up in the new catalogue in April. I have my fingers and toes crossed this one does; it's just a gorgeous gorgeous set.
This project features stamping on virtually just the one layer, and then a lot of layering to create the visual texture. The raised circle embellishments are easy with the 1/2 inch circle punch. The paper are the top is from Spring Silhouettes.
The aged look around the edges is achieved by sponging on Creamy Caramel ink. This is an ink colour that I use quite often and is a good one to have in your supply. Our sponges come round; cut them into six or eight triangle shapes to give you lots of surface areas for sponging. It's a great technique that adds visual interest without adding more layers of card.
I think Anabel named this one the "Tall Box". My dearest and oldest (not eldest) friend, Melinda, showed me this template donkey's years ago; it's a good old stand-by.
My preference is to do projects that require no templates because I hate to draw, trace, or maneuver anything remotely like a puzzle.
This box is wheeled all over with It's Beautiful, a really fun design in the Spring Mini catalogue in Pretty in Pink. The flower is from One of a Kind and also uses the coordinating punch for the little flowers.
This is exactly the same box as the one posted earlier (scroll down) done up in Real Red and Green Galore - achieving a very different look!
To schedule your NO template packaging class, email me today!
This template is a lot of fun! All credit goes to Kayoko in Christchurch for showing Anne who showed me this technique.
The inside panels open up to reveal a hidden panel inside. Sounds tricky, but deceptively simple once you see how it's done! I've made a closure for this card using magnets under the One of a Kind flower medallion, an idea from Racheal. I had to do some fiddling to get the rhinstone brad to lie flat so the magnets would stick, but with persistance, it does work!
I just love how the background worked out on this one with the Boho Background stamp and the white gel pen. Again, this pen is the best white gel pen on the market. It's worth ordering!!
This is a very neat project shown to demonstrators by Linda at convention. I can't remember her last name, but a very lovely and warm lady!
The concept here is very simple - use your Designer Series Papers to make a perfect gift bag by just wrapping it around a box! Slip the box out and voila! a bag ready for some stamping.
I thought the idea of the card on the front was also very clever. Seal an envelope, slit one end open and adhere that to the front of your bag for a quick & easy pocket to insert a tag or card. Stampin' Up!'s envelopes have the same super-smooth finish on them as the Whisper White and Very Vanilla stamping card to give your stamped imaged a clean, crisp finish.
My friend Pauline had a brainstorm in a class one day to punch out flower to cover up little boo-boo's. I did a really crazy thing to this bag and was so frustrated I wasn't about to start over . . . so I took Pauline's advice and made my bag a pretty little band-aid. It's sort of floating out of place, but a sight better than what lies underneath!
The paper used here is Fall Flowers. The second sample is done up with Apple Cider papers - those that are being deleted as of Sunday. This photo is a bag that was made up by my dear friend, Mirriel. If you'd like these, get them today!
I've noticed in the years I have been teaching papercrafting that every Christmas there seems to be THE project everyone loves. 2009 brings us the "bag in a box" for an easy gift idea.
And I love this quick project, too! You can make two out of one sheet of our designer series papers and all the rest can be made out of scraps and bits & pieces, so easily a project that can be done for less than $1.
The Dashing paper has been so overwhelmingly popular this year! The Real Red, Old Olive, and River Rock combination is striking, festive, and still slightly unexpected.
Pauline, a very talented and lovely demonstrator in Napier, designed this beautiful card. She has a style very different from my own, and I love it!
The accordion fold on this only looks tricky - it's very simple and straightforward once you get your head around how it fold together. The stamp set used here is Bloomin' with Beauty in the Spring Mini Catalogue (sept 08-Nov 08). The images were coloured in using sponge daubers with Bashful Blue, Mellow Moss, and Apricot Appeal.
Pauline then added a bit of Crystal Effects for a glossy, wet look on some of the petals and while it was still wet, sprinkled on just a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Simple and stunning.
This is my Incentive Trip swap revisited. I'm also going to use this as my Christmas cards this year - I love the idea of a little beatiful, fun card that also holds a tiny gift. And what better than chocolate? Okay, maybe money . . .
This little project uses the One of a Kind set and the matching punch, both of which will be deleted on November 30th. This set wasn't really intended to be a Christmas set, but done up in the Purely Pomegranate, I think it could pass for poinsetta-like.
With the purchase of this set, I'd be happy to include complete directions for this card!
I really enjoy making these quick and easy little books! Fill these with photos, recipes, embelishements, advice, etc. You can make these as thick or as thin as you wish and any size. Featured here is the Artfully Asian set, coloured in with the Stampin' Write Markers and then accented with Crystal Effects. Crystal Effects leaves a dimensional, shiny look, making the flowers stand out and look "wet" or embossed. The background is stamped with the Weathered background stamp, one that is overlooked but a really useful one! It's really neat when layered with flowers if you enjoyed the aged, distressed, or heritage look.
The designer paper used here is Apple Cider, also used on a scrapbook page posted earlier in the month (scroll down for it). These aren't colours that I would naturally think to combine . . which is one reason I love to use the papers: it makes the colour combination decision for you! These particular papers will be retired in 6 days, so please order now!
The neat feature of this book is the double set eyelets. This book uses four of the Stampin' Up! jumbo eyelets, so the back is as neat looking as the front.
If you would like to make this project, contact me to set up a time.
Here's version two of the pop can for this year. (scoll down to see another design) So, depending on your mood, these can be bright and fun or more sophisticated.
The stamps used on this project are often missed in the catalogue because it's such a small set. It's called Snow Flurries and the words are from Short & Sweet. If you love these colours, grab the papers now as they will be deleted Nov 30th!
My favourite packaging idea revisited! Not only great for Christmas, but perfect for birthday party favours (or invites!!) or any other fun occasion.
I've done this one up using the Wintergreen Designer Series Paper and the Crazy for Christmas set, which is perfect for this project. I quickly coloured in here & there with the Stampin' Write markers and done!
I have just a few slots left in December for classes - let me know if you'd like to book a class for EASY and NO TEMPLATE packaging ideas! It's a great way to also learn rubber stamping techniques!

"Creative work is play. It is free speculation using materials of one's chosen form."
I am now "getting it". I have this tremendous urge to spend lock my door and scrapbook! I really love it. Next year will bring more pages to my classes, more on offer, and more on this site. How about a scrapbooking day? Show of hands?
This page is an easy layout and actually the first layout I have attempted that uses more than one photo, as my dear Ria pointed out to me. I have a preference for layouts with a strong focal point . . . that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
The layout was inspired by My Time. Her great layout can be seen here.
The Designer Series Papers are Summer Picnic, available through the end of November. I just love the bright colours in this series. This is also the papers used on the spinner card below. The die cut blooms are a coordinating accessory for these papers and lots of fun, especially since they are on textured card and super big! My friend Jan G made a particularly BIG and BOLD page using this same layout. I forgot to get a shot of hers before she took off - send us one, Jan?
Stamps used here are from It's a Beautiful Thing and Enjoy Every Moment, both from the Spring mini catalogue. Journaling to coordinate with your project is another great use of those markers on promotion this month!
Oh, and yes, I also made three of the girls in the photos. The fourth one is a close friend of our family, Ayla.
This one's for Karen. I love spinner cards! So quick, yet something fun and different! Tilt the card side to side to see the cherry spin along the slot.
To achieve the multi-coloured cherry image, use your markers to colour the stamp (the rubber portion) rather than using the ink pads. Be sure to colour with the side of your marker in order to preserve the tip. Huff on your image before stamping to rewet the ink, and then stamp on Whisper White card.
The white gel pen is a must-have accessory with the scallop punch. Yes, I know they are available for half the price elsewhere, but they don't work nearly as well. Every single person who has bought this from me has commented how well it works. It's worth spending the extra few dollars to get a quality product here.
Tart and Tangy is only available until the end of November along with the markers as individuals! Contact me today to order yours and/or to book a class to learn how to make these very fun cards.
This is a fun and easy little gift for Christmas! All you need is an double wrapped chocolate bar and a few bits of paper and card!
Now that I have finally bought myself this set, I've used it heaps. And now that I can replace markers individually (November's promotion), I've been far less stingy about letting my customers use them! These cute trees were coloured in with various bright colours to match the Designer Series Paper and the wrapper with just a dash of Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
The words are also in that Crazy For Christmas set. Use your marker to stamp out just a portion of your stamp, giving you greater flexibility with the images you already own. Markers available as singles just until November 30th!
If you are overwhelmed by which colours to order, here are my top ten suggestions:
By now, many of you may have ended up with a few tins of nuts to eat up! And if you haven't, you need to book a workshop with me or ask me for a demo nearest you.
So here's a great way to use up and enjoy all those legumes!
Glazed Nuts
1 1/2 c nuts
1/2 c sugar
2tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
Combine ingredients in a frying pan and roast on medium heat, shaking the pan or stirring lightly. Roast just until golden brown (although I like mine a little burned), and pour onto baking paper to cool. Break into clusters. Says it serves twelve, but I'd say it serves one.
I've also added rum essence and also cinammon. There is only one cinammon to get, though. You can find it here. It is absolutely worth tracking it down. And their vanilla and the vanilla hot chocolate and to die for as well.
This was a super fun class I did last year, but thought it was worth revisiting. My scrapbookers adore this set, but it can be used for so much more! I think all children love to build people as well.
Here we have stamped on Shrink Plastic, available at most any craft stores, with Jet Black Staz-on. I have then coloured in the images with the Watercolour Pencils (page 150), punched out the images with large punches (or you could just cut them out), and shrunk them down with a heat tool. These charms are just adorable! You can then use as page embellishments, zipper pulls, earrings if you are really adventurous . . . !
Purchase the All in the Family set and the Watercolouor Pencils and receive the Jet Black Staz-On FREE! Offer valid through tomorrow Sunday November 16th!
One of the neat ladies I met in Palm Cove in August sent me such a cutie card this week! Isn't she great?! I made a version of this earlier this year, but I have to say, Teresa, I like yours better!
What a neat way to use Tart & Tangy, the adorable set that Karen keeps telling me is the best value in the mini catalogue.
Can you tell which punch she used for the bite? It's one you should all own by now . .

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep."
So, we are all clearly in love with Dashing papers and the Season of Joy stamp set! It's so versatile! And I love that the Dashing does not necessarily have to be Christmas - it's just a great colour combination. And at 13.95 for a pack of 12 double sided, a tremendous value, too.
This is a great little page I did up of my daughters from about four years back. I see it's my eldest missing all the teeth in the pic, and this year it's the youngest who is missing four teeth for Christmas! Oh, if only we could freeze them as they are.
The title Happy Days is done with a stamp set called Happy Everything and is in the main Idea Book & Catalogue. I've done it up here with Whisper White ink. The photo may not do it justice, but it shows up quite well on dark cardstock. It also stays wet for a bit so it is embossable too.
Don't forget the Christmas card submission! You've all had a few days to work on it or just send me over what you are mailing out this year. Enter to win a $20 gift voucher!
