This little cutie was made by Denise , another wonderfully talented lady. Denise has also successfully used six - seven colours here! Wow!
Greetings Eight is a stamp set that has a lot of different images in it for many occasions. Denise has cleverly only used the leaf image from a stamp that also has words on it. She's done this by inking up only the portion of the stamp she wanted, either by carefully using ink pads or else inking with the Stampin' Up! markers.
I also really like the paper piercing along the side - a very nice visual texture that is so easy to do with the Stampin' Up! mat pack ($22.50).
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Greetings Eight, Happy Everything
Colours: Kraft, Very Vanilla, Pale Plum, So Saffron, Bordering Blue, Sage Shadow, Basic Black
Isn't this nice? This is a swap given to me by the lovely Kelly Slattery. Most impressive is how she's used so many colours effectively on one project. She's successfully used six colours here - a true colour challenge! What do you think?
The cool distressing along the edges is achieved by both sponging on ink, although it appears she has rather dipped her edge into the ink, and with the Cutter Kit distressing tool.
Thanks, Kelly, for sharing and for your beautiful work!
This is a CASE of a CASE. Thanks for sharing with me, you big wide world of creative people!
That being said, I resolve to never flat out copy. As my dear friend, Pam, said, "What's the fun in that?" I thought a lot about that and realized she's right! Take on the creative and mental challenge and at least change up one thing!
The technique on this one is straightforward and effective. Use your Stampin' Pastels and Whisper white ink to create a relatively vivid colour on a dark cardstock. You need to work relatively quickly with this one - stamp and then pounce the colour of your choice over the ink. Chalkboard is an appropriate name for this one - it does leave a sort of dusty, hazy look just like a chalkboard.
Schedule a technique workshop with me! Only a few dates left for May!
This is the fourth version of this card layout that I've made! Next up - a scrapbook page with this one.
I love, love, love these new papers! This version is made with Raspberry Tart Designer Series Papers for a sweet, fresh, berry feel.
What I love about this is that the focal image is embossed directly onto the DSP rather than the traditional white or vanilla card. The mix of textures is really apealling.
Class "All About Embossing" available for booking now!
Supplies used:
Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Warm Words
Colours: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Raspberr Tart DSP
Other: cropodile, Pretties Kit, White Embossing Powder, White Taffeta ribbon
As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, each year I face loads of retired stamp sets and kits that I must sell off or give away.
This week my three daughters have found ample opportunity to get on each others' nerves.
Combining my two aggravations: each afternoon I have given them a baggie of a leftover kit or bits and pieces. Their challenge is to make something of their choice using what's in the bag and a few tools.
Sofie (6) created the Always card, Madeleine (10) made the Berry Bliss card, and Kjirsti (8) made the always looong card.
I thought they all did well, but Sofie surprised me at HOW well! She got the m&m for the day. Which one would you pick?
Friends 24-7 is one of Shelli's favourite stamp sets. At first, I wondered why, but I think I really do like this one. Sometimes it just takes some playing and creating something wonderful to realize the potential!
And I am also finding as I create new projects for workshops and classes that I keep reaching for those fabulous new colours! Woo-hoo - aren't they FUN?!
This card features one of the many techniques you can do with your pastels. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! (Besides that I need a good comb) Enjoy!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Friends 24-7 $53.95, Pocket Silhouettes $39.95, En Francais $39.95
The card is actually one of our stamping envelopes with a notecard slid inside. My girls enjoy this little pattern for quick invites and for birthday cards to give to friends.
This is not my best stamping effort . . . However, you get the idea!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Big Bold Birthday, Cheer and Wishes
Colours: Tangerine Tango, Taken with Teal, Rose Red, Summer Sun
Little baggie toppers, as they are so creatively named, are easy and inexpensive to make! It's a neat way to jazz up an otherwise ordinary bag of goodies.
This is birthday season at my house, with three birthday parties in a row, so this is a quick and satisfying project for the younger set on up. Madeleine chose the Pun Fun, her favourite and we've use the new, yummy Designer Series Prints.
Now you're all wondering what the chocolates are and where to get them! They are miniature chocolate bars I found at Gilmours. The outer wrapper comes right off, leaving just the gold wrapper, ready to be embellished to match your project.
Deal of the Day: Anyone ordering Pun Fun by 10pm tomorrow night gets 20 of these little bars thrown in for free!
So, my husband thinks he can ask me to make him cards for some reason. How cheeky.
So I've swapped him for a massage.
Jared trains many of the music leaders in our area, and is putting on a special training night in a few weeks. So he needs 35 of these babies. Hence the simple design, but I still really like it.
The colour challenge was a perfect combination - fun and cheery, but not too girly.
Love the cheep talk set! We couldn't find any stamps suitable for "music", so this was actually a cool little option instead.
Anybody want to play factory with us this afternoon?
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Cheep Talk $56.95, Cheer and Wishes $39.95, although Really Retro $28.95 would have been better for this one. I just don't own it (yet!)
Colours: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie beak
I had one hour and forty-five minutes to make 15 plus swaps. My underpaid helpers, I mean, my children, pitched in and we got these done for our training and swap meeting!
The Fresh Cuts Cards are just beautiful - they can be dressed up quite a bit or left simple as this one is. The Fresh Cut stamp set (I know, confusing, because they both have the same name!) is designed to go very well with these die cut cards, and a bargain to boot.
However, my set had been overnighted on loan, which forced me to get a little more creative! I've done emboss resist for the background (or the image that is showing through the petal cut outs) and sponged on Riding Hood Red and Pretty in Pink.
In mid-February, we launched the Bushfire Appeal in response to the tragedy that affected so many lives in Victoria and across Australia. We’re pleased to announce that with the sales of the Bushfire Appeal sets, our final donation amount to the Australian Red Cross Bushfires 2009 Appeal will be $77,889.63 AUD!
We greatly appreciate your efforts to encourage customers to participate in this cause. We also recognise your sacrifice to make this appeal so successful.
Thank you. Your worthwhile accomplishment has truly made a difference.
I also want to say thank you to my customers who supported both me and our community in this very worthy cause.
This is a gift box that a Kim Carter, a dear friend, made and gave to me as a lovely surprise.
It reminded me again of why we do what we do. Yes, as creative people, we are so satisfied with just creating and making beautiful things. But it also feels so wonderful to be the recipient of someone's time & talent. And that makes everyone feel happy. Thank you, Kim, for giving me that very special gift of your time and kind thoughts.
The card is cool, isn't it? She's done a neat fold along the bottom so it stands up by itself.
Kim also knows I live between my house and the gym, so she's gifted me some little toiletries - perfect for the gym bag!
This is a great example of how you can take some items that might otherwise be ordinary, like a box or a tin, and really change the entire thing to be a WOW! All you need is a bit of colour and a dash of courage to begin.
I found these colours very easy to work with! Honestly, anything with Chocolate Chip comes together quickly, though. And I am lovin' the new In Colours!
Keeping with the Eastern Blooms theme for the week, that was the main stamp set used here. I used every single stamp in the box!
There are four different ways of using stamps on scrapbook pages here:
1. Create your own background image. How often do we need a specific something or other to go with our project and can't find just the thing? Here's a very easy way to just make your own!
2. Create an embellishment strip with embossing. I embossed those Chocolate Chip vines onto Whisper White card. I tried it first on Baja Breeze, but it was just too "heavy" looking. So another technique is to emboss onto Whisper white and then just sponge on ink, giving a much softer, textured finish. I've left some "whiteness" here, too, to add to the effect.
3. Create your title and embellish a tag. Just a little bit of the Kiwi Kiss was all that was needed here. The small tag on the left hand side was also stamped.
4. Cut out your image and add a 3D embellishment. The arrangement of flowers in the corner add that final visual texture that changed the page from same old same old to "finished".
I am taking bookings now for May for Stamping Classes - Layouts, cards, and off the page projects available.
This week I'd like to focus in on the stamp set Eastern Blooms. Let's start with this sample, sent to me by the Stampin' Up country manager, Emma. I think she made it, but not certain. She may be too busy with desk stuff to do the fun stuff!
This card features three of the new colours, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, and Kiwi Kiss. Do you love them? I wasn't so sure about that Kiwi Kiss at first, but I think it will be a well-used colour after all! I think it will go on my favourites list this year.
So Emma has used the Eastern Blooms set here as both a background and a focal image with a Rhinestone brad. Nice!

Easter is one of my favourite times of the year. And, being raised in the Northern Hemisphere, this cooler time of year feels a bit more festive to me anyway, adding to the special time that Easter already is.
This card idea is taken from brandycox; thank you for sharing your creative ideas. This industry has a lot of give and take, which I really appreciate especially for those times when one hits a "creative block"!
I realize that the papers here and two of the colours are now retired. However, you can still use the idea with new papers and/or I have a few bits and pieces left here you can order if you want exactly what is shown here.
The little chicky and both sentiments are from the stamp set A Good Egg. I coloured in chick straight with markers and then added a load of glitter. He looks awesome!
The edge is done with the Scallop Edge Punch for a "cracked egg" look. Just a fun card today!
Suppplies used:
Stamp sets: A Good Egg
Colours: Ruby Red, River Rock, Groovy Guava
Other: Ginger Blossom Designer Series Paper, Designer Label Punch, Small Oval punch, Scallop Edge punch, Earth Elements brads, River Rock Ribbon
How cute are these? These have been floating around the net for a while now; I have no idea who to credit for the original idea - but darn quick and easy!
These little bunnies have a peppermint patty inside for a fun presentation of a small treat for Easter. A chocolate sandwich. It doesn't get better than that!
These are made nearly entirely with Stampin' Up! punches, but you can also use the Pick a Petal set to make the ears for a matching print. The faces are just drawn on with Stampin' Up Markers. See, my drawing is terrible. This is why I stamp.
I am sure there are lollies of some type that will work for this project in New Zealand. I do have a couple bags of the peppermint patties left. Sooo, because I cannot eat them, I will offer them up to anyone placing an order for the Pick A Petal stamp set from now until Easter or until supplies last.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: None or Pick a Petal
Colours Used: Various - we stuck to Soft Subtles - a great way to use up bits and pieces
Other: Scallop circle punch, 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 inch punches, large and small oval punches
