A big welcome back to Chrissie Patterson! Chrissie has a beautiful, unique style - it's a pleasure to showcase you and the rest of the team on my blog.
This is the last sample for March using the Crochet ribbon, Basic Pearls, and the Vintage Trinkets. AND it's the last two days to order the crochet ribbon and the trinkets!! The Summer Mini ends tomorrow evening - last orders going in tomorrow night.
Stunning! Chrissie ruched or gathered the ribbon along a strip of Sticky Strip and visually anchored each end with a Pearl. I LOVE the little tag detail with the Vintage Trinket Safety Pin.
The focal image is from the beautiful Set Easter Blossoms. Not just for Easter! And those words, Well Scripted. . . .I'm sad to see those ones go. Didn't quite get my fill of those ones darn it.
The Ovals Die is more useful than it might intially appear - really great for a different shape and element to your projects.
Thank you Chrissie for another beautiful showcase!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Tiny Tags, Easter Blossoms, Well Scripted
Colours: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Other: Top Note Die, Love Letter DSP, Ovals Die, Crochet Ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, Jewelery Tag Punch, Basic Pearls, Sticky Strip, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder
These two simple, clean, effective cards are both made with using only one stamp - the For You flower found on the back page of the catalogue. We do sell a few individual stamps, and this one is a goodie, especially since it's so easy to layer AND fits perfectly with the Fancy Flower punch.
The above uses Chocolate Chip, Real Red, and Crumb Cake. The flower is punched to get the various layers using the Fancy Flower Punch and the two largest circle punches.
A little ribbon and a Polka Dot emboss, and all done! It's the colours and how they all work together and repeat that make this look great even with such little effort.
This is a one layer card. The front is embossed with elegant lines, the same flower punched as above, and then some bits of ribbon to make a stem. Easy! Add a bit of glitter for a bit of sparkle. Or a lot of sparkle!
The colours above are Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink, and Certainly Celery.
I have about twelve leftover kits from the show. Order a For You Flower for $17.50 plus $2 postage and I will include the kits as an added bonus! While supplies last ~
My favourite thing - scrapbooking layouts! I designed this up to show at the Auckland Craft Expo last weekend, and I love how it turned out. Simple and clean but with a bit of detail too.
That photo - my eight year old Sofie took that with my mobile phone! She did well, didn't she?
The papers are the Blueberry Crisp collection. I'm not a "blue" person generally, but I do really like this combination. All the different blues in these prints make them easy to tone in with virtually any blue in the SU pallette.
This crocheted ribbon is lovely. The Vintage Trinkets include the safety pin below and the cute button brads above. All available only until Thursday (March 31st):
I set myself up for a potential disaster when I asked my two youngest daughters to write the journaling for me. Ten words to describe your mother. . . And by the way, that says "busy" not "lousy"!!
The stamping is done with an old favourite, Pocket Silhouettes. This one is one of the most versatile and well used sets in my stash. The journaling is done with Notes and Details from the Summer Mini, also available just until March 31st.
Try this layout! It's an easy one to copy and put in your different elements on each square as suits your style and theme!
Sally Stuart of Tauranga has created a beautiful card for a friend in Christchurch using the Crochet ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, and Basic Pearls for us this week. Beautiful Sally!
I like the idea of using the vintage Safety Pins to visually anchor the focal point. Don't you love those cute little brads? They are tiny buttons . . .
Thanks Sally for a sweet card. I'm sure your friend appreciated it very much.

Our second Guest Artist for March is Janine Pearce - welcome to the team Janine! March's supplies were the Crochet Ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, and Basic Pearls.
Janine really did a fantastic job here - check out her matching set:
The project on the left is a cute card. Love how the safety pin holds those Tiny Tags. The one on the right is an ADORABLE sewing kit:
The detail on this is unbelieveable! Love how the background is done in the Square Lattice embossing folder, Janine. The tiny button brads from the Vintage Trinkets fits right in. The pink button is made out of cardstock and perfectly edged.
Those scissors are a little pair she found at a $2 shop or some such. Janine removed the plastic handles and replaced them with a perfect cardstock copy and covered it with Crystal Effects for stability.
The needle is amazing . . . again made out of cardstock and the eye hand cut. The thread around the spool is real . . . Wow!!
Thanks so much Janine!
I'll have this with me at the Craft Expo for the rest of the show; come and have a look!

Sale A Bration is nearly over! It's the perfect time to purchase stamps AND also the most advantageous time to join our team of demonstrators!
When you join our team during March, receive a FREE stamp set of your choosing from the Idea Book & Catalogue! That's a huge added value to the starter kit!
This one has been displayed on my desk for a while! True to Bron Heslop's style, this is simple and effective stamped card. Bron gave this to my daughter Sofie for her baptism .. . wow that was a while back!
Clearly I swiped the card off Sofie.
This is one of my favourite stamp sets in the new Catalogue, Just Believe. It's a huge set with lots of flexibility.
Monday night we had a really fun Scrapbooking class - making this great little album inspired by Amy Celona. I wanted to use the PlayDate series of papers and embellishments - something fresh and fun and bright:
The cover is made with the On Board Mix & Match series - such fun shapes in there that coordinate with a number of stamp sets. Here I've used the flower stem and a ring and blinged it up with the SuperNova Glitter.
This is a great template that has loads of room for more flaps and pockets and hidden tags. So much space for photos and journaling ~
Narelle requested we do an album that had an envelope, so I had throw this in at the very last flap:
Now the PlayDate Quick Accents are perfect for finishing this album off. The words are from the Apple Blossom set, but otherwise there's no stamping on this project thus far.
It was fun to make this with you girls; thanks for hanging out with me!
Welcome to a new year of our Guest Artist Team! Please have a read of a little bio on each of our wonderful ladies.
For March, they were all given Crocheted Ribbon, a few of the Vintage Trinkets, and four pearls. None of them were given much time ~ so well done ladies! It's been fun seeing how you each interpret these embellishments.
First up, Rebecca Palmer of Nelson. She's made for us a lovely card using the Bliss Stamp Set:
Very nice Rebecca! She's used the tiny safety pins in a cute way - to anchor and hold the words. Love the Baja Breeze/Very Vanilla combo too!
As promised, here are the pants (trousers!) I stamped over the summer. It was a lot of fun and very cool to alter the fabric like this. For this project, I used the large flourish stamp from Baroque Motifs.
Unfortunately, although I drafted up the pattern to fit me, I drew it up last October when I was about to compete. So, I will have to give myself another month or so before I can get my bottom into this pair. Not so clever of me.
It was a little tricky to get these two patterns to match with the pocket, but it's a patch pocket, so I had a little play.
It took me a couple days of pondering to figure out how I could use those fabulous Antique Brads as a button. In the end, I cut the legs of Brad and hot glued him to a an existing button shank. I'll have to be gentle with it, but it will work great. So no cookies when I'm wearing these.
I love how the back turned out! I'm glad I stamped on the yoke bit, too.
I used my bedazzler (I know, very 80's) and blinged up the flourish a bit. Who doesn't love a few rhinestones on their bottom?
This is a lovely Sale A Bration project designed by Rachael Knight and using the SaleABration set Sweet Summer.
Rachael love the boxes and bits and pieces, so this was just her style. We loved it! The demonstrators got to do this one at the Stamp Camp we held in Rotorua about a month ago:
Inside the box we had a notebook, pen, bookmarks, eraser, and clips:
And everyone's favourite, the thumb tacks:
Rachael and I have been storing these for YEARS just for this stamp camp, haven't we Rach?
She did a good job using those up! You won the challenge hands down!
The stamp set is one of the FREE SAB sets, available only until March 31st. Free with any qualifying order or workshop! Email me for your free brochure!
