This is one of the projects I presented at one of the senz classes this past weekend, and a class I thoroughly enjoyed. The ladies (actually in ALL the classes) were so friendly, so relaxed, so receptive, and so willing to share and learn.
The neat thing about a set of cards is that each individual card doesn't have to be complex - it's the nature of having a coordinating set that makes it a wow all by itself!
The card boxes are clear acrylic boxes that one of my downline sourced for us. They are fantastic - clear so they coordinate with anything and just the right size to fit a standard sized card!!
The feature on this card was done using the Circles Die. I do use this one quite a fair bit - sure beats cutting circles out by hand!! And I have lost my Circle Scissors Plus somewhere in the depths of my craft room, so cutting by hand really was my only other option!
I do like the Sunny Garden papers - so happy and fun!
And the Butterfly Embosslits - wow, can't get much more verstile that these. I just kept them on my table through all the classes at SENZ because we used them so much.
Cottage Garden Stamp set + the Sunny Garden papers + Butterfly Embosslets = Winning Combination!!
Other: Scallop Eyelet Border Punch, Five Petal Flower Punch, various brads, Pearls, Butterfly Embosslets, Daffodil Delight 1/8 taffeta ribbon

Isn't this just FANTASTIC! The photo does not do it justice honestly, but these are stunning.
Ann Wills taught us how to make these beautiful framed art at our team training on Saturday. The supplies were minimal, which is amazing.
Each of these insects is made with cardstock vellum, embossed, coloured, and painted.
And as I was taking these photos, one of the cats was busy trying to eat the back of the frame. Yes, the crazy cat who eats and chews on everything she can get her paws on.
I'm happy to make this frame in a class setting. To book in or to schedule your own, please email me!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Nature's Nest, Clearly for You, All a Flutter
Colours: Soft Suede, various markers
Other: Cardstock Vellum, Champagne Shimmer Mist, Black Embossing powder
Saturday was a big day in my world - the all day Team Training I hold once a year as a follow up to convention in Australia. It's always very stressful and busy leading up to these events, and then so much fun when we finally get there!
Ann Wills taught our first class - a stunning piece of framed stamped art:
Next up we had Rhonda Fawcett from Matamata teach us a couple of masculine projects using the Motorcycle stamp:
That's some gorgeous hair, Pam.
After a really huge lunch because I didn't stop eating all day long, we had our lovely lovely friend Jo Donson come and speak to us about Low Fat Dressing. Always a laugh and full of good stories and information, Jo really does inspire us all to be a better us.
We were all enraptured . . . . even the masses of boys and adroids next door at the gaming convention couldn't help but stop when they passed by.
Our last hands on class was taught be Bron Heslop, another really neat masculine project using a very cool fold. She will be teaching this project along with another winner this saturday morning at SENZ. (Book in here and get the stamp used included in your class fee!)
We had quite a few other activites going on throughout the day, one of which was a group effort to make a supply of cards for Emma (the NZ country manager for Stampin Up) to use for Christchurch demonstrators and businesses. It's a simple yet effective card. More effective than I realized - read below:
I taught a class at the end of the day about Colour Theory. I pulled these colours straight off our wonderful Colour Coach. Bron pointed out to me how very earthy they were of me to line them up as I did . . . . earth, sun, and sky. No, no, that wasn't a fluke . . . . . LOL. Amazing how the eye naturally knows what looks "right".
Do you just love that background "stamp"? Can you tell from the above picture of Racheal and Rosie what we used for those?
Now, I can hear you all asking " where are the pictures of the projects you made all day"? I'll put those up over the next few days. Tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday so come on back!
June's featured supplies are the Botanical Gazette Papers and arent' they beautiful?
Sally has made up a series of three cards using these new goodies:
The patchwork look of the card on the far left is a fun technique and easy to do. A great way to feature coordiating printed papers too!
The other two projects use the Beveled window frames - both adding that little bit to make it really special. I love how the last project uses both the "quilting" technique and the frame.
Sally's done a great job using the papers and showing off their versatilty. Thank you Sally for a collection of beautiful cards this morning!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Clearly You
Colours: Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, So Saffron, Cherry Cobbler
This cute project was inspired by my friend and downline, June Abbott, a demonstrator in Ashburton. This is what she sent me:
Adorable, isn't it?
And then I was asked to present a fun fold kids card at a class, and I thought the ice cream cone was perfect for a Swing (or Flip Flop) card!
I love having "more than the obvious" use for our fantastic punches, too. The Square Lattice Embossing Folder is just perfect for a waffle cone ~
On the other side of the Swing Card we did the traditional cupcake, but jazzed it up with a load of glitter. Hey - even boys like a bit of glitter don't they?
The background of this card is stamped with the Confetti Stamp Set, a useful little set that is easy to overlook. That other Old Olive bit on the background . . . . well that was an accident during class. A mark of enthusiasm, yes Michelle?
The Swing card uses very little cardstock and the style doesn't lend itself to much embellishment, so it's an easy one to produce en masse for invitations and the like.
I can't remember if mentioned this on a previous post, but when I was designing this, I challenged myself to use colours I don't normally reach for.
This Level 2 Hostess Set is absolutely perfect for many many techniques - one of which is coloring on the stamps using Watercolor Wonder Crayons:
It takes a bit of finesse, but this is one of my favourite techniques - one of my favourite finished looks. The blending of colours is just beautiful!
The Words are from the new You're A Gem set in the Autumn Winter Mini - all sized perfectly to fit with the Beveled Windows, I discovered. Loving those windows; they add such class to a project. I think I will use them heaps in my Senz Classes:
To use the Watercolour Wonder Crayons for this technique:
1. Spritz your Cardstock with water until it's wet, but not puddling. I've used Naturals Ivory here because it contains a bit of cotton and won't shred as readily as other cardstocks.
2. Colour your rubber directly with the crayons. You might need to VERY lightly spritz the rubber inititally to get the wax to transfer.
3. Stamp. You can usually get 2 or 3 pretty good images out of one colouring.
*You may need to just play a bit testing different wetnesses and things to get it just how you want it.
Feel free to email me with any questions or to book in a class to do this technique with me!
You can get this stamp set FREE by hostessing a class or workshop or by using my Loyalty Punch Card!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Love & Care, You're a Gem
Colours: River Rock, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, Perfect Plum, Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant

This month's creative challenge for the Guest Artist Team is to use the Botanical Gazette Designer Series Papers. These ones have a lot of different colours in them - but still manage to acheive a very soothing mood.
This project was made up by the lovely Anne Dil when she visited me a few months ago:
Reminiscent of a project we did many years ago together, it works beautifully in this updated version!
I'm loving the Beveled Window Frames; I hope they stay on into the new catalogue in September. In the meantime, they can be purchases this month and next month only from the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue.
This is a neat feature on the card - making a peek a boo window on the front using the two sizes of the Oval Punches.
Love those tiny button brads in the Vintage Trinkets too . . .

Stamps: Clearly You
Colours: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy
