This is a remake of a project I taught three years ago - and taken from Atomic Butterfly (Splitcoast stampers), one of the many many talented artists . .. . my favourite one actually.
I love the non traditional colours on this one as well as the frosty look the acetate gives. It's hard to see in the photos, but the base card is stamped pink on pink as well.
The main snowflake is done with Heat and Stick - a very cool product that makes use of our very fine coloured glitters. Love it! Can't have a snowflake card without glitter . . .
Stamping on acetate is easy, but you must use Staz-On ink. The white ink is used here both for the snowflakes and for the edging.
I know it's still technically August, but yes, it's time to start thinking about Christmas cards!

Last Saturday was a very fun day with many of my team and more here in Auckland. We had nearly 200 attend a great day of training and playing with much of the new product being released September 1st.
This is a picture of me with some of my Wellington team - Debbie Ryan, Anna Mangnall, and Paula Dobson.
Thanks for sitting with me!
And thank you to my team for making such efforts to be there! It was wonderful to spend time with you!
There isn't much stamping on this scrapbooking layout, but a lot of really neat techniques using Stampin' Up! supplies. I had a bright, fun layout in mind when I started, but this particular photo of Madeleine inspired a different evolvement:
The photo of the photo doesn't really do it justice. It's such a cute one. My father is an amateur photographer and lucky me - i have a box full of really great photos of my babes.
The journaling was done on acetate with an ink jet printer and then clear embossed. The "treasures" word was stamped on acetate using black staz-on ink.
The wet water effect is quite cool! All the ladies loved doing this and were amazed at the easy effect of clear embossing on acetate.
And those vintage tags are an accessory still available and also included in the new Idea Book & Catalogue (order yours here). And yes, the do come already "rusty" . . . antiqued is probably the more correct word.
And last I just wanted to show that yes, you can heat emboss on photos. I wasn't sure and took a big risk, but it does work . .
As you know, August is the month where Stampin Up offers many products for the very last time. Below is the list of items that are already sold out:Stamps •Sanded (wood) •Friends 24-7 (wood) •Full Calendar (wood) •Garden Whimsy (wood) •Choo Choo (wood) •Cheers To You (wood)
Card Stock •Rich Razzleberry 12" x 12" •Bashful Blue 12" x 12" •Marina Mist 12" x 12" •Night of Navy 12" x 12" •Chocolate Chip 12" x 12" •Crumb Cake 12" x 12" •Early Espresso 12" x 12" •Very Vanilla 12" x 12"
This is a fun and easy technique that costs virtually nothing - no extra tools required!
I love that Upsy Daisy stamp set . . . . such a great one for all sorts of techniques.
Plaid Silhouette:
Ink up your stamp in Baja Breeze. Now use the edge of your Old Olive ink pad and tape or draw lines in a diagnonal pattern across the inked rubber. Stamp.
Inspired by the lovely samples in the current Idea Book & Catalogue, this project is a fun combination of colours. And I'm so glad the Ornate Blossom is staying around one more year - I didn't use it nearly enough!
I've also used the Friends Never Fade coordinating set along the bottom of the card and also inside. The background is a simple checkerboard of our Designer Series Patterns papers.
The main image is enhanced using the Kissing Technique. However, instead of using a stamp against a stamp, we used markers to create the plaid pattern.
Ink up the image with ink pads or markers, then draw your design on the image using a darker coloured marker. Stamp.
I've also cut out and layered up the image a few times as well as added Crystal Effects for added interest. Love it!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Ornate Blossom $24.95, Friends Never Fade $35.95
Colours: Rich Razzleberry, Marina Mist, Old Olive
Other: Crystal Effects, Old Olive 5/8 Grosgrain ribbon, Eyelet Border Punch, Designer Series Patterns Brights
I'm loving the Artistic Etching stamp set for my vintage work - I've used it on my last three layouts. I stole this idea nearly straight from the Impressions magazine - the monthly ideas magazine for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. This is a layout "sketch" that can be adapted to be all themes:
The majority of the embellishments are clustered on the Top Note die in the upper left hand corner. Here is where you can play - just use bits and bobs you have around that match the colours and theme of your photo. Grouping them together makes a statement!
I really really love the Newsprint papers and am sad they are being deleted! The little newspaper details here and above and from that series. Easy accent!
I think I could buy stock in Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler.
Scrapbooking class tomorrow night in Bucklands Beach and August 18th on the North Shore.
I know this stamp set is now retired, but fingers crossed it's in the next catalogue. If not, then I have my own set that will be for sale . . .
This is another little project I taught at Senz, and it's an easy one for a little gift. Yes yes, time to start thinking Christmas, even just a little bit! My three daughters loved this idea.
One of my favourite features on this one is the ribbon technique. I LOVE this crochet ribbon (fingers crossed we get to keep it):
The butterfly in this set is just gorgeous - one of my all time favourites. We cut off the antennae here and used Linen Thread to create a 3D look.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Strength and Hope $37.95
Colours: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink
Other: Chipboard coasters, Scallop Square Duo Die, printer paper, various ribbons, jumbo eyelets, mat pack, basic pearls
I love how this simple brayering project turned out. I taught this one at one of the Senz Classes and then subsequently throughout my classes the last month - everyone was quite successful with this one:
An old favourite and thankfully sticking around another year, Upsy Daisy is one of my most used and loved stamp set. So many techniques you can do with this one!!
The flowers are black embossed. The subtle words in the background are the En Francais Background stamp - another well loved one.
The sunset look in the background is acheived using a brayer, although you can also acheive a similar look using sponges. Love it. With brayering projects, the rest of the construction can be quite simple.
