I love this layout! I don't know where the original design inspiration came from, but this is a remake of one I did up a number of years ago. Still gorgeous! (That quality of "timelessness" is a bit significant in keepsakes like this)
This layout is absolutely perfect for using up those bits and pieces. You can fill in each square with that last button, that scrap of ribbon, or some punched shapes.
Using DSP adds some cool colours and designs with little effort. I've used the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set here - an old reliable! Fingers crossed that one stays for at least another year.
Don't forget the Autumn-Winter Mini ends tomorrow!! And wednesday is the release of the Retiring/Last Chance List! Email me if you'd like to be sent the Last Chance list via email straight away.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Fabulous Phrases
Colours: Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey
Other: Twitterpated DSP, Bird Punch, Vintage Trinkets, Organdy Ribbon, Heart to Heart Punch, Seam binding Ribbon, White Staz-On

This was a lot of fun to make! Presented to us by the super-talented Delys Cram at team training last month, I finally completed mine to satisfaction this afternoon. Isn't she an amazing artist?!
It was a real pleasure to be able to do up a page with all the bits there and the idea done - it is fun to design and personalize, but it's also quite nice to have a great piece of artwork handed over on a silver platter, so to speak.
I am quite liking the use of lots of white in my work recently.
There are just under a million layers and bits to this one; it must have taken her about a year to work out how to most efficiently use the cardstock as were were only given like 3 pieces.
All the little details are great.
I had to change up the design a wee bit to fit my own photos, which is usually the way it goes and part of the beauty of scrapbooking anyway. I love it when my students/customers put their own touches on.
Both the Twitterpated DSP and the Loving Thoughts stamp set are in the Autumn/Winter Mini, so they just have a few more days of availability left!
Love this banner here; it did take me quite a while to get it placed so it didn't eat up Madeleine's face. Yes, this one was a bit of a puzzle to get all the pieces to "fit" with my photos.
Join us for a scrapbooking class! Coming to a class is a great way to get a page done without having to stress your creativity or even have all the tools in your possession.
Next Howick class is this coming Thursday, August 2nd 7:30pm. Next Birkenhead Class is this coming Monday, July 30th at 7:30 pm.
Thanks for looking and please get those last minute Mini Catalogue Orders in before it's too late! xx

I've been playing with my new Diagonal Plate with the Simply Scoring Tool, and it's fantastic! EAsy to use and makes those tricky templates oh so much easier!
This six fold project is one I found on Splitcoast Stampers and is quite quick and easy with the Simply Scored Tool and the Diagonal Plate Attachment.
The scoring literally takes about 30 seconds and then it's just following the template as to which parts to cut off and which bits to keep. The template has been kindly provided by Monique, a designer at SCS, and can be found here.
We used the Apothecary Art stamp set on the front, another winner from the Autumn Winter Mini - and such a lovely one. A quick bit of colour on the flowers is lovely. We used Loving Thoughts, also from the Mini, for the words. And of course the DSP is the elegant Beau Chateau series. I will be sad to see these papers go next month!
Thanks for looking and have a great day! Join us for a class or host your own!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Apothecary Art, Loving Thoughts
Colours: Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Pink Pirouette
Other: Framelits Dies, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Basic Pearls, Boho Blossom Punch, Marina Mist Ribbon, Beau Cheateau Designer Series Paper, Simply Scoring Tool and Diagonal Plate

Isn't this lovely? This idea was displayed at team training by Vanessa Baker, and we just had to give it a try! Using the French Foliage and Inspired by Nature sets, layers of ink make a beautiful combination.
We've used the E block (yes the acrylic stamp mount block) covered in distress ink over watercolour paper to create the yummy distressed background here. It took a few tries, but what a fabulous result!
I just love how those French words from French Foliage come up in layers here, but not too distracting from the main flower image from Inspired by Nature. Extremely Elegant!
Book in for a class to make this lovely card! I will be teaching this in West Auckland this coming Sunday or in Takanini this Wednesday!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Inspired by Nature, French Foliage
Colours: Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Early Espresso
Other: Distressing Essentials Kit, E Block, Hemp Twine, White Embossing Powder, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

This is a remake of a layout I did years and years ago - one that I showed at the Canberra Convention last month, too. I've used the Sweet Shoppe DSP and the Sweet Shoppe brads here for embellishment.
The layout itself uses very little materials as the majority of the page is made up of unmatted photographs! For those wanting a budget and a quick layout, this is a goodie.
Aren't these brads absolutely precious? You don't need much else to dress them up - super on their own.
My little tag on the side was made by extending the large tag punch a wee bit and using those delicious textured papers from the Sweet Shoppe pack! A simple sparkly heart made out of scraps nicely finished this and ties in the colours.
My title was made using the Simple Serif Dies from Stampin' Up! - these are my most used dies ever. Again, I used some scrap cardstock and cut the letters out of both chipboard and cardstock.
The girls and I played around with this and decided to heat emboss the letters with the Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Just enough bling to stand out, but not too overwhelming. Plus, it darkened the cardstock just a tad, which gives a nice difference between the title and the rest of the page.
Very cool!
My intention was to use the coordinating Mouthwatering set with this page, but it just didn't need it in the end. There you are - a very nice layout using a smidge of DSP, four brads, some chipboard, and some scrap card!
Join us for a scrapbooking class! Next one in birkenhead TONIGHT 7:30pm. Howick is August 2nd, and Nelson is August 21st.
Supplies Used:
Colours: Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade
Other: Simple Serif Dies, Sweet Shoppe DSP and brads, Lucky Limeade Ribbon, Heart to Heart Punch, Iridescent Ice Emboss Powder, Large Tag Punch, Mat Pack
What's On:

This is a beautiful swap made by Barbara Bicknell. Isn't it lovely?! She's made up a thin box using Daffodil Delight, the Framelits Dies, and the Apothecary Art stamp set. Love the splash of Riding Hood Red as well.
There's always room for a butterfly. And Pearls. And glitter.
She's double layered the butterfly with vellum and everyone's favorite embossing folder, square lattice.
Inside the beautiful box is a decorated notebook and a stamped pencil! I never could figure out how to make the pencils match, and here it is! Stamp with staz-on!
The Attic Boutique papers used here are available only through the end of the month, so order yours before then!
Thanks, Barbara, for a beautiful gift!

Rob and I decided to take a weekend away during the school holidays, and trekked up to Dargaville. While there, we helped Tracey Scott put on her first Stampin' Up! class as a new-ish demonstrator to the team. Ria Kaire from Whangarei joined us as well to support. It was a lovely afternoon.
Here is one of the projects the ladies did - a joy fold card with a nice sparkley, pink flower. The DSP is Attic Boutique from the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue.
Rob and I made a weekend of the trek up north and stayed at Kai Iwi Lakes. This was the view off the deck in the morning:
The cabin was literally in the middle of a swamp up on stilts. Gorgeous! We live in such a beautiful country!
Thanks Team!

It's taken me days to put this together! It's strongly inspired by a layout in our gorgeous Idea Book & Catalogue, but I didn't have all the same gear and wanted different colours . . . I had fun playing around and threw away a LOT of cardstock and ribbon in the process!! Sofie and I are happy with the final result.
These photos are from 2006 when Sofie turned four and had a frog birthday party. The crown is one that sits in our china hutch and we only get to wear it on our birthdays .. . I just love all these fun expressions I grabbed of her while her daddy was reading stories to the group.
The top corner has just a bit of printed paper, scraps of ribbon, and a single button for embellishments. That scallop circle stamp is from the Circle Circus set, another one that I haven't used hardly enough. It's fun and gorgous.
I loved using a splash of the silver Glitter Paper on this layout - these papers are still available even though they are not listed in any of the current catalogues. Love them! Must get more!
And my scrapbooking ladies will learn some colouring techniques with these cute little animals in the Under the Big Top stamp set. This is a good way to tie all the colours in this layout together. Simple Circle Punch and layer with the good old Scallop Circle - easy!
I hand wrote the journaling and then hand cut it for an uneven look. Let's hope all the new ladies in class tonight like it!

Another project inspired by our amazing convention in Canberra this year!! This card is strongly inspired by the lovely Vanessa Webb, a demonstrator in Australia who is beautiful inside and out.
I had very very poor photos of this, so I just did this up how it appeared to me, so likely a bit different than the original.
Custard in the background is an extra treat for you today. ha ha!
Shimmer paint is used on this one three different ways, so I loved teaching this for that reason. The background is stamped using shimmer paint directly on the stamp. I also used it to sponge around the edges of the Soft Suede Framelits, using the die itself as a template.
We also used paint to colour over the flowers on the bodice, on top of watercolouring it with Watercolour Wonder Crayons.
I used the Riding Hood Red Ribbon, but the rest of the card is so neutral, you could use any of the other three colours in the pleated ribbon instead. I liked how the Baker's Twine is layered over the pleated ribbon, adding interest, texture, and a different look to the ribbon altogether.
if you don't have those Framelits dies yet, add them to your wish list! I absolutely love them and am using them heaps and heaps and heaps. . .
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Rues Des Fleurs 51.95
Colours: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red, Always Artichoke
Other: Champagne Shimmer Paint, Framelits Dies, Bakers Twine, Watercolour Wonder Crayons in Regals, Black Staz On
