This has been one of my top three favourite cards to teach and share with my customers this Christmas season. Such a cute fold and so easy!
Inspired by Teresa Brown and her Incentive Trip Swap, I chose to copy her concept but change the colours and the stamps.
I chose Season of Joy for two reasons: one, I love this set - complete with words, flourishes, background images, focal images, the works and two - it's the easiest tree to cut out in the book!
The poinsettas on the words feature the Stampin' Up! SuperNova glitter - a fine, fine coloured glitter that is truely fairy dust. It comes in five colors and at $6 per pottle, a bargain! Plus, there's Chocolate Chip in the selection - what could be yummier than Chocolate Chip Glitter?
I have four spots left for classes/workshops before Christmas, there's still time to book in and learn how to make this before the holidays!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Season of Joy set of eight $60.95
Colours: Bashful Blue, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Other: Super Nova Glitter, large oval punch, Scallop Oval Punch, 3/4 inch circle punch, Rose Red ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
I still don't have my head totally around how these work, but they look fantastic! I've done up a couple versions of these, all inspired by the birthday card Karen Rogers sent to me. I'll post another version in the next few days, too.
This particular colour combination was requested by a Bride-to-Be who wants to do these up for her wedding. What an amzing invite this will be for her! We were designing it to keep the costs down as much as possible, so this card doesn't use much beyond stamps, card, and ink.
The stamp set used here is Great Friend, one that I personally find very easy to use, and have found that I use every single stamp in the set on most projects. And at $37.95, it's tremendous value as well - only $7.59 per stamp!
The Tri-Shutter card is actually quite easy to prepare; it's just a matter of a few scores and slits in the card and then getting all the folds to go the right ways, which does require a bit of brain gymnastics, but if I can do it . . .
You can find an online tutorial for this one here and/or I am most happy to teach you how to do it in a hands-on class or demonstration. I have three slots open for December and am now taking bookings for late Janaury and February.
Great Friend stamp set available for ten more days only!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Great Friend set of five $37.95
Colours: Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue
Other: Trio Flower Punch, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, white gel pen
This is a lovely version, shown to me by my downline and friend, Pauline McArdle, in Napier. (if you are within any reasonable driving, flying, walking, or crawling distance, her classes are not to be missed!)
A step up from yesterday's version, this one has a window, but layers of the Whisper White cardstock fold around so the window is self contained and does not show through to the inside of the card.
I've done these up Christmas, but of course, they can be done for any theme.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Season of Joy $60.95 set of eight, Always set of eleven $66.95, Many Merry Messages (Noel), set of eight $75.95
This is actually an oldie swap I made for the annual Stampin' Up! training convention in 2008, but wanted to bring it out again while we were looking at Baroque Motifs this week. Actually, to be honest, I can't really claim that I made this. I designed it, but truth be known, Tui and her sister, Anne, made these for me while I screwed up a dress I was trying to make at the time.
I recently had a friend and customer ask what green went best with Elegant Eggplant. Now, it's always hard to say which one is "best" because it depends on the mood you want to evoke and also personal style.
However, my first choice would always be Old Olive. For those familiar with a colour wheel, yellow and purple are opposite colours, which means put them together for a real eye-popping combination (I learned all this in my fashion design degree . . . who knew it would come to play in my life in this way! :) Old Olive has a lot of yellow in it, so set it next to purple and they really look fantastic together!
So the fancy fold part is quite easy, but perhaps a way that would be new to some. This one folds open like a book. The eggplant card folds around to the front like a book spine and the Very Vanilla stamped portion is adhered to that part like a page in a book. It's a neat little look acheived with small effort.
And what can I say, I've truly never seen a bad project with this stamp set - it's nearly guaranteed to look great!
This is a fun little project my dear friend and downline, Anne Dil, taught to me. Isn't it cute!?
Anne made this up as a child's birthday party invite, but I've changed it up here to be more suitable for a wedding or any sophisticated occasion. Of course, all colours and images can be changed, but the template is a great little idea.
The main part of the card is folded to create a little stand in the back. Then the card is basically a big tag that slides inside.
This is a great way to do invites - for weddings or anything - because the card will stand up and serve as a reminder for the big event!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Together Forever, Forever Flowers Wheel
Colours: Blush Blossom, Mellow Moss, Close to Cocoa
Other: Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, 3/4 circle punch, Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon
Made for me to use as a display by my good friend and fellow demonstrator, Janine Pearce. Is't she great!
And what a neat idea! Perfect for a gift or for table decor, these are easy enough to make out of an A4 sheet of cardstock.
The bride's dress has been stamped and embossed using the So Swirly wheel, one of the most products in the catalogue. An elegant clasp and a long display of taffeta ribbon down the back finishes her off beautifully.
Our handsome man is finished off using a little off cut from the dress, a few brads, and a simple knot for a bow tie.
These would be lovely filled with mints or white and dark chocolates.

This is one of those cool projects that is so easy to do! You need only a punch or two to make your windows and you're good to go.
These cards fold flat for mailing, and I've sized this one so it still fits into a standard C6 envelope. My girls here complained a bit about the cutting out of the branches, but I think it really makes the card quite cool, don't you? I love the pear hanging down, too.
I think I'll be making more of these!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Cheep Talk, Best Yet
Colours: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Summer Sun
Other: Scallop Circle, 1 3/6 circle, large and small tag, sticky strip
Here is a beautiful card she made for me! Isn't it great? This was a gift for being awarded New Zealand Demonstrator of the Year for 2009. I appreciate so much all your encouragement and support.
Who doesn't love Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze together? Not anyone I've met so far ~
This is called a Pyramid card, one I've seen a while back, but have never made myself. I like it! Something a bit different and fun!
Waterfall cards became popular many moons ago when I was first discovering Stampin' Up!, and has remained a favourite amongst my customers. It's such a simple concept, yet unique and adds a real wow factor!
Pull on the tab at the botom and not only does a hidden message appear, but the three tiers of images cascade. It's a very fun card, especially popular amongst the kiddies.
For a hands-on how-to, email me to book your class today!
The card is actually one of our stamping envelopes with a notecard slid inside. My girls enjoy this little pattern for quick invites and for birthday cards to give to friends.
This is not my best stamping effort . . . However, you get the idea!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Big Bold Birthday, Cheer and Wishes
Colours: Tangerine Tango, Taken with Teal, Rose Red, Summer Sun
Easter is one of my favourite times of the year. And, being raised in the Northern Hemisphere, this cooler time of year feels a bit more festive to me anyway, adding to the special time that Easter already is.
This card idea is taken from brandycox; thank you for sharing your creative ideas. This industry has a lot of give and take, which I really appreciate especially for those times when one hits a "creative block"!
I realize that the papers here and two of the colours are now retired. However, you can still use the idea with new papers and/or I have a few bits and pieces left here you can order if you want exactly what is shown here.
The little chicky and both sentiments are from the stamp set A Good Egg. I coloured in chick straight with markers and then added a load of glitter. He looks awesome!
The edge is done with the Scallop Edge Punch for a "cracked egg" look. Just a fun card today!
Suppplies used:
Stamp sets: A Good Egg
Colours: Ruby Red, River Rock, Groovy Guava
Other: Ginger Blossom Designer Series Paper, Designer Label Punch, Small Oval punch, Scallop Edge punch, Earth Elements brads, River Rock Ribbon
Petal Prints and Afternoon Tea - a perfect combination!
This card is inspired by Theresa Brown's beautiful swap she gave me on the trip we won to Australia last year. This card open four times, and then keeps going over and over. It's aptly named the Never Ending card. How it's done is a trick I'll keep up my sleeve for a short while and make a little video clip of it - it's one of those things that just can't be explained in writing!!
But I still wanted to show you now the front because I want you to get this set before it's gone if it's on your wish list. Wednesday's post showed just the fill flower - today's post shows the set done two-step stamping style, with the fill done in a light colour and the outline stamped over it.
This set is designed to NOT match up - just go for it. It will look fabulous!
Oh, this is one of those retiring sets that will take me some time to part with . . . I have used and adored these swirly images! I am not a coffee drinker nor a big chocolate fan, but I still love the style of this set. And it's great for little gifts for those who are!
This explosion box is one I did actually a few years ago, loving the Real Red and Chocolate Chip combination. The word chocolate on the top fo the box is acheived by inking up just the one word on one of the sentiment stamps with a Chocolate Chip marker (gee, how many times have I written "chocolate" in this post?), and then stamping. This is a great way to get lots of uses out of your sentment stamps - pulling a word or phrase out here and there.
The foam was lots of fun! I used Liquid Applique here and before heating it up, I sprinkled in some red microbeads and also a dash of glitter.
The explosion box itself is a very easy template, but a cool wow! for the recipient! I added a sachet of hot chocolate powder to this, wrapped up in the Red Gingham ribbon.
Add in loads of Chocolatey sponging, and you've got a perfect gift for a chocoholic!
Stamps Used: Like it a Latte (RETIRING in 12 days! Order today!)
Colours: Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Other: Red gingham ribbon, Liquid Applique, red microbeads, sponges, markers
These are some lovely projects made by by friend and downline, Anne Dil. She doesn't have a blog (yet!), so I am happy to host her creative efforts here. That offer stands for any of my team or customers who want to play the game!
Anne's first project is a simple box that we've nicknamed the Triangle Box. She's used Baroque Motifs here - the most used and loved set I own. I love how she's embossed with glitter over the word - a great detail that doesn't take too much away from the focal image.
Her second project is a wee card made with a retiring set, Birthday Best (29.95 set of four). The close is done with the slit punch and the background is made up with a great little set called Little Pieces (39.95 set of eight), which is also being deleted by the end of the month! Order these two goodies before they run out!
This is a little gift idea I stole off the net a while back; I love it!
It's an easy little folder/pocket that has a cello bag inside filled with ribbon wrapped around four Round Tab punches. I love that the "gift" inside can be made to totally coordinate with the project. This is great for crafting friends without spending a bundle, either.
This project features the slit punch for the closure and also the two flowers from Office Accoutrement set, which just so happens to have shown up on the Retiring Stamp set list on Sunday. The white border around the flower is made up of . . . the large oval punch!
Stamp sets: Office Accoutrement, Sprinkles, So Many Sayings
Colours used: Soft Sky, Pale Plum, Certainly Celery
Other: Large Oval Punch, Scallop Edge punch, Word Window Punch, Slit punch, Round Tab punch, brads, ribbons, soft subtle buttons
Brown and pink together is one of my favourite combinations - a no-fail standby.
Today has been quite cold in Auckland, although that might be because I have shorts and a singlet on, so I pulled out this hot chocolate pouch for a sample. Pretty much everything on this project is being deleted by the end of March, so get it now if it's on your wish list!
If I have time tomorrow, I will do up a page using this colour combo as well; we'll see how much work I can get done today!
Stamp sets: Like it a latte
Colours: Pretty in PInk, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate chip, Purely Pomegranate
Other: Berry Bliss Designer Series Papers, Soft Subtles Eyelets, various ribbons, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, stampin' sponges
This is a fantastic little template a lovely lady named Carrie showed to us at last year's Stampin' Up! training convention in Sydney. I have used this quite a bit, and am pleased to hear that many of you have been as well!
One sweet customer, Lisa, told me that she made some of these up and let her daughter do all the embellishing, which is a great idea! What young girls (we're all young, aren't we?) wouldn't enjoy that? I'm thinking about the tween birthday party my eldest wants to have next month . . .
The first sample is one that many of you have made with me, using the Afternoon Tea Designer Series Papers and the Live Your Dreams stamp set (which is on the Bushfire Appeal list).
The second sample uses the Le Jardin papers and the Carte Postale stamp set (both on the retired list) and the third one - you'll have to watch the movie!
The basics of how this goes together is in the movie (mum's tv show, as it's called at my house) because it's rather tricky to explain in print, but easy to explain with visuals. The rest, the embellishing, is up to you! Enjoy!
Another favourite Hostess Set! Oh, So Lovely has been well used at my house becuase it's the only "tall" flower in the book! And I enjoy the look of the distressed stamp (the Creamy Caramel texture behind the flower), both with this set and mixed in with other sets, too. This particular stamp set will be deleted as of March 31st.
This is an invaluable template because this box uses only one measurement and no template! You only need one sheet of A4 card to make this size, but of course, it can be made smaller and bigger, shorter and taller to suit your needs.
I teach a fun class I call "No Template Bags and Boxes". Book yours today and receive your FREE Oh, So Lovely Stamp set!
Stamp sets: En Francais Background stamp, Oh, So Lovely, Occasional Greetings
Colours: Almost Amethyst, Creamy Caramel, Certainly Celery, Basic Black, various markers for colouring image
Other: Hodge Podge Clip for closure, ribbon, Dazzling Diamons glitter
Peekaboo cards are a fun twist on the traditional card and hold a sweet inside! This is a take on the lovely card AnneMarie designed a few weeks ago.
Once you know where to score, this one goes together very quickly. The centre window is made using the circle scallop punch, and then the remaining image is used to layer on the front.
The focal image is done using In the Stars stamp set and the two sizes of star punches. I added just a bit of glitter, even though I was going for masculine! I did run this by my husband, and he gave his approval.
Likely the most difficult cards to design . . masculine! And a Valentine to boot!
Inspired by the beautiful elements from Nicki Tidbold's swap, I set out to design a card for the men in our lives.
I have used a double card design here for added interest. The concept is simple - make a smaller, coordinating card and adhere to the front of your main card, which gives you lots of room for writing love notes (or for an invitation!). I told my ladies that were here for class that if you didn't have much to say, then just do some conveniently extra stamping inside the cards!
This card uses a neat trick with the crimper. First, run your card through one way, turn it 90 degrees, and run it through again. Repeat until you have the texture you would like.
The buckles or hinges here is the Designer Label punch turned sideways. Love it!
The hearts used here are great for Masculine Valentine because they are not toooo girly. They are from the set Polka Dot Punches and you can only get this set for FREE during Sale-A-Bration (running through the end of the month) with any qualifying order or workshop. I love the punched tin look of these stamps. And the fact that they coordinate with the punches makes them extra easy to use!
Yes, you still have time to get this set before Valentine's Day! Email me to get yours sent out today!
