Well I'm at the airport on my way to Sunny Nelson (fingers crossed), and this is one of the projects they pulled out of my samples box last month and requested. Designed by Sharna Russell, I changed it up just a smidge and will happily present this cutie to the ladies today.
The front uses the goodie, Butterfly Prints, and the Butterfly Punch. It was fun to use those after a long "rest" . . .
The inside of the card is a cute surprise - made out of an envelope, creating both the card fold and a pocket with a tag.
Easy and effective and just something fun and different!
And the cool thing about Stampin' Up! Envelopes is they are made from the same highly refined cardstock as the Whisper White, so they stamp just as nicely as you'd expect from this company.
This is a fun, fun, fun project designed by Irene Wardlaw and Rayleen Baker. I lost my sample . . . so had to make it all up again!! Would love to know where the original is hiding in this house!
They did a fantastic job, didn't they?
The balloons are quick and easy to cut out, and folding three in half and gluing together is a neat and easy little technique to make it that little bit different.
You know, between this project and the last one Irene did, I'm beginning to think she really loves polka dots. So do I! Love this design.
The front is cool enough, but open it up and another surprise!
A simple but effective idea!
The balloons are perfect for this! I am really blessed to work with so many talented, wonderful ladies + Craig! xxx
Even if not for Valentine's Day, isn't it wonderful to do something for those we love for no reason at all? Friends, siblings, coworkers, family - who doesn't smile to receive a token of love and appreciation?
Last night we made some little candy wrappers using the new Candy Wrapper die for the men in our lives. We got out good old Chocolate Chip and Real Red - always a winning combination.
The words are from the OUtlined Ocassions set - one of the lovely SaleABration sets you can earn for FREE!
The first one I did I used Very Vanilla, which is nice, but I wanted to use the new Baker's Twine, which is white . .. so did another one:
Used the new red Glitter Paper too and made this one extra wow. LOVE that stuff! The baker's twine is around the ends of the wrapper, just a little detail, but not too girly.
Now, what do to with these today? I have two special men in my life here (Rob and his son, Bayley), but I have the day lined out with treats all along the way. So I think I will give these Hershey's kisses to Rob's single father, Murry.
This is a project I do almost every year - and it's a super one! Great for gift vouchers or small gifts or photos, this template can be adapted to any occasion.
Made with a standard Stampin' Up! envelope inside makes the pockets super easy to do.
I've enjoyed using this Something for Christmas set this year - one of the few stamps we sell as individual stamps. On this sample I've coloured it with markers to get all the different colours. My next post will be a sample with this one stamped all in one colour - also effective.
Would you like a Stampin' Up! voucher for Christmas or to give to a friend this season? contact me to arrange!
This is a neat and quick project shown to my by friend and customer, Kathe O. Thank you so much for sharing! This is the ornament closed:
And open:
I chose to use the Mocha Specialty papers because one I love them and two because they have a bit of metallic shimmer to the prints.
The label on the front is just the same stamp layered up with punches. Turned out nice and so quick. Perfect Punches is one of those stamp sets I don't pull out often enough.
Email me with any questions or to have this shown to you in a class!

Welcome to a new catalogue year!
Today is the day we officially launch the newest product release and our new Idea Book & Catalogue. You can view it online here or order your own copy here.
Last Saturday we had a Fun Day Out here in Auckland and got to see and demonstrate and experiment with many of the new products. Here is one of the projects I presented using the new Take A Spin stamp set:
And yep, the spinner does work! There is a set of spinner accessories in the brads section to use with this stamp set. My girls couldn't keep their hands off of this . . .
The spinner face is paper pieced - easy enough to do with just a few snips of the scissors. And even a boys' card can stand just a sprinkle of glitter.
Bayley liked it anyway.
Have a wonderful day and send those orders in - I will be placing an order first thing today and probably again tonight.
Chrissie has an adorable take on the Nursery Suite Quick Accents and the Flower Brads! This one has been sitting on my benchtop for a few weeks, and there's been lots of oohs and aahs over it.
Now that is one nappie I'd be happy to receive! LOL
A cute little pattern and some simple embellishments is all you need. I like how Chrissie popped those circle stickers up on Dimensionals.
Also clever to use that brad as a closure - effective and adds a decorative accent.
Inside the card is the sentiment and a few more bits from the Quick Accents pack. Makes for a cute and fast project!
Thanks so much Chrissie! Last night we missed you in class - we made a lovely Easter Basket amongst other items. I'll post up the Easter Basket Janine taught us on Friday ~
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Well Scripted
Colours: so Saffron, Chocolate Chip,Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery
This is a cute little gender neutral project that was a take off of a great swap I got on the Hamilton Island trip last year. I loaned the original to someone so can't give credit .. . . sorry~
Can you recognize where those aliens came from? yes that's right - the Owl Punch! Pretty cute little idea, isnt' it?
All the circles are from the same punch, too. I just love having more uses for tools I already own!
Each alien was stamped to give some visual texture. Here I've used the Trendy Trees set and the Confetti stamp set.
You really need the Tombow Glue to get those attenae on. Loving that glue these days!
Made for me by the super talented Chrissie Patterson, a simple design with super detail.
I wouldn't have thought to mix the Greenhouse Gala DSP with these stamps and the Newsprint papers, but it works wonderfully!
The technique I wanted to highlight here was the cool way Chrissie has folded the papers at the bottom.
1. Pleat your cardstock into little (or big) folds. It's probably easiest if you do this on top of another piece of cardstock and stick it down as you go.
2. Tuck around the ends.
3. Leave as is, sponge with ink to antique, and/or brush with Shimmer Paint.
My apologies for not posting yesterday when I had said I would. The last 48 hours have been hideous. Between fevers, two dear relationships ending, preparing for a competition next weekend, car windows being smashed . . . but life is back to a normal rythmn today. Thank goodness!
So let's bring on Dee's work of art this month! I thought her use of the Rose Red ribbon here was quite clever:
Easle cards are a snap to make and so effective. Oh, I just had an idea pop into my head -
Thanks Dee for your contribution! All the artists are excited about sharing next month's challenge supplies - tune in next wednesday to have a look!
This Wow project was what we did at last night's technique stamping class. Okay, the teacher struggled a wee bit working out how to do it in front of others, but we got there thanks to clever Leigh!
Such a cute and unexpected project!
The flowers are simple - made with a single scallop circle punch:
And the sponging in the background was done using the fabulous technique shown to us at our last team training by Paula Dobson:
This month's supplies again were the Soho Eyelets, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze cardstock, and watercolour paper.
There is so much to look at on this one - who would have thought a few supplies could inspire this beautiful double pocket fold card:
I love these Soho eyelets - they are perfect here for this vintage look. Chrissie has also clear embossed the Baja Breeze card - can you see it? Subtle and so beautiful.
Chrissie's flowers are just STUNNING. Really really nice. She did let me in, saying they were a pain in the rear, but they turned out so well. Worth the sweat and tears, I'd say.
And the watercolouring element here is also really beautiful. I haven't seen anything quite like this. Now how she did this I think I will save for a class because it's a wee bit involved and very cool.
Thanks so much Chrissie!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Very Vintage Wheel, Vintage Vogue set of eight $38.95
Magic cards are a true (and well deserved!) WOW project. The technique is simple once you get your head around it; it just takes some exact cutting and measuring.
I love this set - Boatloads of Love - such a cute one for masculine projects.
Now pull up the tab and reveal a fully coloured in image and words!
This is a cute little way to use ribbon, too, an idea I cased off the web. Perfect for this theme:
To learn how to do this technique, contact me to schedule a class or demonstration or for information on the demonstrator closest to you.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Boatloads of love set, Weathered Background stamp
Colours: Real Red, Brocade Blue
Other: Red Gingham Ribbon, White Craft Ink, Pewter Jumbo Eyelets, White 1/4 inch Grosgrain ribbon, stampamajig, 1 1/4 inch circle punch, blender pens, watercolour wonder crayons (various)
Today I'm posting a project I did up a few weeks ago - it's similar to what Bron shared with us on Wednesday's post and also to what Chrissy designed up as her submission the first week of July.
I loved the concept of using those notes to make a wee bag - just right for a few little notecards AND a square of chocolate!
I wanted to show how versatile these Pendant Notes are as well as show how easy it is to take a couple of ideas you like and combine them.
I'm also considering this a Budget Wise project because the pendants on the cards are just ink - which costs virtually nothing! An easy, inexpensive, versatile embellishment!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Vintage Vogue $38.95
Colours: Kraft, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Orchid Opulance, Chocolate Chip
Other: Pendant Notes set of 15 cards & envelopes $20.95, Colour Spritzer (or Squishy Squirter as we like to call it on the Creative Inkers Team), Build a Brad, 1/2 inch circle punch
Our last submission for the Guest Artist Team for May (a bit late but that's my fault for traveling so much the last two weeks) is from Diana Farthing using the All A Flutter stamp.
Diana made this for her mother for Mother's Day - and the butterfly makes a nice accent at the bottom of the pot.
The flower bit pulls out as the top of a tag for writing.
The flowers are made with the Boho Blossoms punch (on SALE this week only!) and the Five Petal Flower punch. She commented that this is a great project for using up all the leftover bits and pieces.
Lovely, Diana!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: All a Flutter (Winter Mini)
Colours: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in PInk, Real Red, Old Olive
Other: Earth Elements Brads, Real Red 1/4 Grosgrain Ribbon, Five Petal Flower Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch
What a crazy week this has been! I hope you all have had a productive and fulfilling work week and are looking forward to the weekend. I'll see many of you tomorrow at the Tauranga Extravaganza. It will be great!!
Today I'm showing to you a Hidden Message Card - an oldie but goodie I pulled out of my treasure trove. The inside of the card features two panels that open a second time to reveal an area where you can write your "hidden" message.
The outside of the card is done up with the One of a Kind stamp set in one of my favourite colour combinations - Elegant Eggplant, Taken with Teal, and Old Olive. The panels are stamped with the Boho Backgrounds (the flower image) and then highlighted with the white gel pen. It's a very neat effect.
Do you recognize the punch used for the sentiment?
The main image doubles as a closure, using two thin magnets punched out with the 1 1/4 inch circle punch. The only trick to this is the make sure your brad is pushed down really flat so the magnets are also as flat as possible.
