Thank you, Kaye, for my beautiful card! This one has been sitting on my desk for all these months and I am just now putting it up!!
Kaye made me this for the stamp camp/birthday time - such a sweet lady and a beautiful creation:
Kay has also used the French Foliage set for the splatters and the background words - beautiful combing of stamp sets! I don't often think to do that myself.
A touch of the Gold Smooch Spritz makes this really shimmer.
I love the brown ink over the green butterfly - a unique and interesting mix of colour there.
June's featured supplies are the Botanical Gazette Papers and arent' they beautiful?
Sally has made up a series of three cards using these new goodies:
The patchwork look of the card on the far left is a fun technique and easy to do. A great way to feature coordiating printed papers too!
The other two projects use the Beveled window frames - both adding that little bit to make it really special. I love how the last project uses both the "quilting" technique and the frame.
Sally's done a great job using the papers and showing off their versatilty. Thank you Sally for a collection of beautiful cards this morning!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Clearly You
Colours: Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, So Saffron, Cherry Cobbler
Janine put in a huge amount of thought and effort into this one - a very adorable Counting Book using the Sew Suite series!
Each page features a different button and counts to ten.
Each page is done in Very Vanill and stamped using various stamps from the Sew Suite series. She's done such a very neat job that it looks like printed paper, doesn't it?
I like how she's tied the three different colours of the PomPom trim to the attaching ring. It's not only colourful, but very tactile for a small child.
The detail Janine put into these buttons is amazing. Each button is 2-4 layers plus embossing or pen details . .
Janine has lent me this to have on display at SENZ. Please join me and us there! I am offering a full weekend of Stampin' Up! classes, all with product included. Bron Heslop is teaching the Saturday morning class, and I will be taking the rest.
The class schedule can be seen at www.senz.co.nz or please feel free to email me and I will send you our class offerings list. We'd love to have you!
Sally has provided us with a couple of lovely and FUN cards using the Sew Suite series! Her comments were:
"These papers were so fun to work with and these cards are dedicated to my lovely, late mum who was a most fantastic sewer and would've just loved these."
Yes she would have! Fun and Bright - Sally didnt' do a huge amount of stamping here and came up with a fantastic end result just by using the papers.
Love the ruched ribbon - perfect for the sewing theme.
Now, I am off to my own dressmaking class this morning. I'm making a copy of a gorgeous Annah Stretton dress. Thanks for the get up and go motivation, Sally!
Wow, you will love this! For May the Guest Artist Team was given the Sweet Stiches papers and the PomPom Trim. Chrissie said this was a real challenge for her, but it's hard to believe with her creation . . .
Apparently is punishable by death if the bow gets undone - it's perfect Chrissie!
The detail here is impressive! Chrissie punched holes and drew stitches between all of those squares. And don't you love how she's used the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder as the "quilting"??
Chrissie has made a cute box using the envelope die that we did in class yonks ago. Such a cute way to use that die - so much more than an envelope! She told me she used every single scrap of that Sweet Stiches DSP, and I completely believe her! Lots of cute embellishments for the box.
Now check out the card set inside!
Each and every card is "quilted" with tiny strips of the Sweet Stitches DSP. It's just beautiful Chrisse!
The Stamps are from Punch Bunch, a SaleABration set from March. I do have a few of these left over, but just a couple. First hands up get them!
Thank you Chrissie for another impressive display of your talent!
Chrissie has an adorable take on the Nursery Suite Quick Accents and the Flower Brads! This one has been sitting on my benchtop for a few weeks, and there's been lots of oohs and aahs over it.
Now that is one nappie I'd be happy to receive! LOL
A cute little pattern and some simple embellishments is all you need. I like how Chrissie popped those circle stickers up on Dimensionals.
Also clever to use that brad as a closure - effective and adds a decorative accent.
Inside the card is the sentiment and a few more bits from the Quick Accents pack. Makes for a cute and fast project!
Thanks so much Chrissie! Last night we missed you in class - we made a lovely Easter Basket amongst other items. I'll post up the Easter Basket Janine taught us on Friday ~
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Well Scripted
Colours: so Saffron, Chocolate Chip,Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery
April's featured products again are the Nursery Suite Quick Accents and the Flower Brads. Rebecca has made us a cute card using Heat & Stick as well:
Very cute idea to use the tree trunk from the tree in Forest Friends! Rebecca used the scallop stickers from the Nursery Suite Quick Accents to create the tree top. Clever idea!
The little animals from Forest Friends are done with Heat & Stick and Glitter instead of straight ink.
Heat & Stick is used with Versmark ink and then heated with the Heat Tool. The Heat & Stick becomes sticky enough to hold glitter exactly to the stamped image. Heat again to set.
Nice job Rebecca!!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Forest Friends, Occasional Quotes
Colours: Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Real Red
Other: Nursery Suite Quick Accents, Flower Brads, Heat & Stick, Fine Galaxy Glitter
This one has been displayed on my desk for a while! True to Bron Heslop's style, this is simple and effective stamped card. Bron gave this to my daughter Sofie for her baptism .. . wow that was a while back!
Clearly I swiped the card off Sofie.
This is one of my favourite stamp sets in the new Catalogue, Just Believe. It's a huge set with lots of flexibility.
Welcome to a new year of our Guest Artist Team! Please have a read of a little bio on each of our wonderful ladies.
For March, they were all given Crocheted Ribbon, a few of the Vintage Trinkets, and four pearls. None of them were given much time ~ so well done ladies! It's been fun seeing how you each interpret these embellishments.
First up, Rebecca Palmer of Nelson. She's made for us a lovely card using the Bliss Stamp Set:
Very nice Rebecca! She's used the tiny safety pins in a cute way - to anchor and hold the words. Love the Baja Breeze/Very Vanilla combo too!
I sent my childhood friend and best friend, Melinda Leavitt, a big box of stamps and supplies for Christmas. She was so kind as to make up a few things and share some pictures with me.
I've known her since birth, literally, and I know this girl hates to colour in and loves stamps that are compatable with punches. So I sent her punched posies and she made up these cute little card sets:
Each box has a multitide of little thank you cards:
Aren't those fun and quick? What a cute stamp set.
Thanks for sharing Melinda!
Next month I will feature my guest artist team again - stay tuned!
I got this lovely card in the post a few days ago by my good friend and super talented lady Chrissie Patterson. She's used a couple of effective techniques here:
The ribbon technique is fun and easy:
1. Put a piece of Sticky Strip where you want the ribbon to be placed
2. Pleat or ruche the ribbon over the Sticky Strip until you've acheived the look you want
Give it a try! For more techniques, sign up for my monthly newsletter and/or book into a class!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Just Believe
Colours: Marina Mist, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Other: Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Antique Brads, Top Note Die, Elegant Soiree DSP, Fine Flourish Embossing Folder
Welcome to November! This is the LAST month we'll have these four fabulous women wowing us with their creations, so be sure and check in every Wednesday to see their art.
This month I gave each of them the Merry Details die to play with. I've been playing too, and it's darn cute!
Sally has done up a couple things this time. First the beautiful layout:
This is just so beautiful, Sally. She's used the Love Letters DSP here. And I love the use of the Vintage Brads:
And here is the wee partridge from the die, so cute with the tail curled a bit:
And Sally also made up a series of Gift Pockets to feature all the shapes on the die cut. This is a super effective and neat way to use all the shapes. and love the Tiny Tag punch used there, too.
Thanks so much Sally! You are a true inspiration to me!!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Punch Potpourri, Tiny Tags
Colours: Very Vanilla, Basic Black Riding Hood Red
Other: Antique brads, Merry Details Die, Tiny Tag Punch
Made for me by the super talented Chrissie Patterson, a simple design with super detail.
I wouldn't have thought to mix the Greenhouse Gala DSP with these stamps and the Newsprint papers, but it works wonderfully!
The technique I wanted to highlight here was the cool way Chrissie has folded the papers at the bottom.
1. Pleat your cardstock into little (or big) folds. It's probably easiest if you do this on top of another piece of cardstock and stick it down as you go.
2. Tuck around the ends.
3. Leave as is, sponge with ink to antique, and/or brush with Shimmer Paint.
I had this weekend "off" unexpectedly, yet nothing is crossed off my to-do list. What did I do all weekend??
I've had a few people ask about the GST rise coming up this week. No, SU will not be changing their prices at this time. We can expect the GST to be considered next catalogue, but for the next 11 months, Stampin' Up! will absorb the price difference.
This beautiful card to the left was made by Kate Tobeck, a new demonstrator on my team. I have a few more lovely cards that I will put up here and there. I felt really spoiled this year with lots and lots of birthday wishes from near and far.
And Kate - what a beautiful bow!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Noteably Ornate set of four $40.95, music wheel $14.25
Colours: Concord Crush, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla
This month's featured materials is the Greenhouse Gala papers. Bron has done a lovely job here making a Fantasy Box and a matching Gift card:
The card is sweet and simple. The images on the card and the box are from the NEW stamp set Friends Never Fade - see page 70 of your Idea Book & Catalogue for the full Graphic Botanicals range.
The box is a lovely surprise, featuring little drawers when opened. I haven't yet made one of these, but they look pretty cool! I just need a customer to request it . . .
I love the top of the box, too, Bron. Clean and striking.
Thanks for another wonderful submission!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Friends Never Fade set of four $30.95
Colours: Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Real Red
Other: Eyelet Border Punch, Pumpkin Pie Button, Circle Punches
Welcome to a new month AND a new Stampin' Up! year!! Today is a big day in my little world - the new Idea Book & Catalogue goes live at noon today. Please join me tonight for my Catalogue Launch at 730pm.
My Guest Artist Team was given the Greenhouse Gala papers to play with this month - and all comments so far is that they all really love these papers. So do I! With a mixture of sophisticated and bright, these ones are super versatile.
Sally has graced us with another amazing scrapbooking project. This time she's made a mini album of some of the deep questions her son asks:
Sally, I LOVE how you've shown both sides of the papers on the cover there.
And check out these pages using various epherma and the Greenhouse Gala papers as backgrounds and accents:
Wow - just amazing isn't it? I didn't post up photos of all the pages, either - this is just a wonderful sampling of this stunning project.
My apologies for not posting yesterday when I had said I would. The last 48 hours have been hideous. Between fevers, two dear relationships ending, preparing for a competition next weekend, car windows being smashed . . . but life is back to a normal rythmn today. Thank goodness!
So let's bring on Dee's work of art this month! I thought her use of the Rose Red ribbon here was quite clever:
Easle cards are a snap to make and so effective. Oh, I just had an idea pop into my head -
Thanks Dee for your contribution! All the artists are excited about sharing next month's challenge supplies - tune in next wednesday to have a look!
