These are some card that my daughters made a few weeks ago. Sometimes it's nice to just make a wee card for inside a gift package or just a little note to say I love you.
But when making a smaller than C6 card, you need a smaller envelope to fit. Now, it's really not hard to make an envelope from scratch, but here's a super-duper quick way to whip one up. And bonus - the kids can do it themselves, too.
I made this card up as a swap earlier in the month, and I was quite tickled with how cute they turned out. Actually, I did the cutting and punching and stamping. Madeleine did all the rest. I feel guilty not mentioning her when she's done a fair portion of the effort!
And what a little treasure this image is - such a cutie! It's found in the Window Dressing Hostess set. Yes, you have to have a fairly big workshop to get one of those for FREE or use a Purchase Punch Card - email me to send you one.
The chunky glitter is so cool! It really is clear with a few bits of glitter that refract the light, but I see that in the photo, the camera caught some of the "chunks" and they are showing up coloured. That's kind of neat, too.
Tomorrow I'll post another, slightly more complex, version of this card.
Watch the video below to see how to make the framed window in the card!

Thank you to all who stopped in and said hello during Senz this last weekend! And some of you I missed, but you left me little goodies behind - you know who you are!
During a couple of my classes, we learned how to tie a neat knot. You all got it during class but here's a quick video so you can practice a few more times til you've got it down perfectly.
The Watercolour Wonder Crayons are truly a lot of fun to use; I get them out and always wish I got them out more often!
This card was strongly inspired by Teneale Williams in Australia, a wonderfully talented lady. She used a different technique for the flowers, but it was a perfect layout for using the crayons, too.
Everyone's projects turn out differently because we not only colour it in differently, but also all use a different amount of water and pressure. See the video for more on this one way to acheive colour variation in your images.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Inspired By Nature
Colours: Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum, Chocolate Chip
Yesterday was a most enjoyable afternoon! We did a 40 cards in an afternoon class, although I'd like to go back and call that an "UP TO 40 cards in an afternoon" class. Some finished four cards, some 24, I think at last count.
Madeleine jumped in at one stage and made 12, so I know the 40 can be done in 5 hours - if only we could stop talking and eating! (smile) At one stage, I stopped the mad production and gave a little demo on the stamp-a-ma-jig, or the placement tool Stampin' Up! offers. Have a look-see, especially if you have not seen one of these in action.
The sample cards were made using the Sweet Nothings Simply Scrappin' kit - those kits can make enormous amounts of cards, tags, and pages!
And for those who were here today - no, I didn't edit out the end of the video!!
Friends 24-7 is one of Shelli's favourite stamp sets. At first, I wondered why, but I think I really do like this one. Sometimes it just takes some playing and creating something wonderful to realize the potential!
And I am also finding as I create new projects for workshops and classes that I keep reaching for those fabulous new colours! Woo-hoo - aren't they FUN?!
This card features one of the many techniques you can do with your pastels. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! (Besides that I need a good comb) Enjoy!

Today's post is a short one - see the video for all the good details!
This is just a fun and easy technique for use with your punches, any shape and size. You just need to have two of varying sizes for this one. Let me know what you think!
I've had several spiiner cards on here before, but Anne felt the photo just didn't do them justice, and they don't! So she's made this little video clip to show you how they work.
You won't be able to keep your kids from playing non-stop with these!
These are so easy to do and such a wow project. What do you think of these?
Anne's samples here are made with Designer Series Paper and Boho Background stamp set.
This is a fantastic little template a lovely lady named Carrie showed to us at last year's Stampin' Up! training convention in Sydney. I have used this quite a bit, and am pleased to hear that many of you have been as well!
One sweet customer, Lisa, told me that she made some of these up and let her daughter do all the embellishing, which is a great idea! What young girls (we're all young, aren't we?) wouldn't enjoy that? I'm thinking about the tween birthday party my eldest wants to have next month . . .
The first sample is one that many of you have made with me, using the Afternoon Tea Designer Series Papers and the Live Your Dreams stamp set (which is on the Bushfire Appeal list).
The second sample uses the Le Jardin papers and the Carte Postale stamp set (both on the retired list) and the third one - you'll have to watch the movie!
The basics of how this goes together is in the movie (mum's tv show, as it's called at my house) because it's rather tricky to explain in print, but easy to explain with visuals. The rest, the embellishing, is up to you! Enjoy!
Are you like me? Do you sometimes pick up those chipboard pieces and wonder what to do with them?
I fiddled with these last week and came up with a result with which I am very pleased. (Eldest daughter Madeleine "helped" me by telling me when it looked bad). I used this technique on the title of my Sun Fun scrapbook page. And, of course, chipboard is an easy accessory for those tricky masculine projects.
See below for the tutorial of what I did; this is just the basics - the possibilites are endless! See here for the tutorial on how I did the flowers for this page.
I'd love to see how you use your chipboard! Besides embossing, some other ideas are:
In fact, I often wondered what the fascination was with all the hedgehog stamps so popular in other brands.
Then one day, while walking to the pool, we found a baby hedgehog on the pathway, orphaned and so tiny. And what mother can leave a baby alone?
In the end, we had her for five days, and then she passed on, despite our best efforts to keep the baby alive. There are a few kind ladies in Auckland who specialize in helping out hedgehogs, and neither of them charge a fee for their services. So I made up a pack of these cards to send as a thank you to the ladies who drove over the try and save the baby. It mean a lot to me and to my girls that people have such kind and generous spirits to help out the small creatures.
This card is quite straightforward, except for the scalloped frame. Take two on the videos for a short visual tutorial! To order your scallop edge punch, email me today!
Do you recognize from where I acquired this tin? This is the tin the Hodge Podge Haredware comes in! So even when you've used up all the goodies, you've still got another project out of the purchase! I've covered the tin using the Bali Breeze papers from the Summer Mini Catalogue and the stamp images are from the Sale-A-Bration set, Yummy. I am looking forward to making some really cool jars and recipe projects with this set! And I think I have a few photos of babies with avacado or some such smeared all over their bodies that would suit this stamps for a nice layout . . . just a few. The
flowers on here were a special effort by me today. All the flowers are from the Pretties Kit - see the video below on how I coloured them up! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Besides that I need to close the dishwasher next time . .
