I loved designing up this one - inspired by a lovely layout in Pinterest done in other brands and colours. This one was quick to put together, but so effective in highlighting both the yummy designs in the new papers, Epic Day, and also the photo. ( of course)
I have really fallen in love with these papers - loving the bright fun colours mixed with a bit of vintage. I chose to cut off the vintage bits on this particular layout and go for a more clean look.
The Epic Day papers will be available in July, but you can get them as a Sneak Peek Promo in May! Just a few days left for that -
I also used the Cute Clips here, from the Seasonal Catalogue, and the Epic Day Washi Tape. I'm going to love using that Washi Tape all next catalogue year!!
The hearts are made with the Hearts Framelits set. I just positioned them here and there on the rectangles and then went around them with an Early Espresso Marker.
I have so fallen in love with this Doily Die since using it a few months ago on Delys's layout in red. Here we just have a fraction of it peeping out for a bit of a frame on the other side of the photo.
I think I just enjoy the "lightness" of it.
Click here to order any of the above products online or email me to order!
If you'd like to make this layout, please email me to schedule a class or join us for a four week course Friday Mornings 9:30 am in Greenlane starting May 31 - $15 per session.
Off to Brisband tomorrow! Can't wait to come back inspired and full of new ideas and training!
I chose the Fan Fair DSP here not only because I love the vintage feel, but because it has both pinks and blues in it - my intention was to do an awesome layout with all four of my children, three girls and my new boy.
However . . . I discovered unhappily I have zero pictures of the four of them that are suitable for a layout. Must remedy that! So I altered the plan and went for one showing the loving relationship between my three daughters.
First of all, I didn't have the right black paper for the upper right hand corner, so I did a quick buy of a black and white DSP pack on My Digital STudio and printed it out on vanilla cardstock! EAsy! And I could even adjust the pattern size to just what I wanted.
The ribbon roses have come out to play again - love those!_ and this time I dyed them with Rose Red and a bit of Early Espresso, just for fun.
And did you notice the Vintage Lace Trim? Now in More Mustard. Actually I just spritzed it with the ink refill and it turned out beautifully. Love that technique!
My Title was fun to do. I used our chipboard and the STampin' Up! alphabet dies to create a simple title. I used the Vintage Trinkets to create a little hanger for the heart (I found this idea off a neat page off Pinterest, which I didn't save so can't give proper credit).
I have felt the nudge for a little while now to include more journalling on my pages, so here we go. I included a hidden tag here with some personal thoughts for the girls. Hidden tags are the perfect way to add things you may not want the whole world to be able to see.
Please join us for a scrapbookign class! I'll be teaching this and other layouts in May.
Some weeks ago I was asked to provide some 'entertainment' at a Hen's Party. The hostess thought it would be lovely if all the guest contributed towards making something of a keepsake for the bride.
At her request, we decided to make up a lovely photo album for the bride to use for her wedding photos later. It was a success! The guests loved having that activity on the side to do, and the bride herself was thrilled to have an album where each of her guests had added a bit of personalization.
Her colours were Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla. So here is what I came up with that any person at the shower could achieve while still being very nice for the bride:
(these are my photos from my wedding by the way just used for the samples)
The nice thing about the 8x8 size is that a couple of photos and one embellishment is pretty much all you need! I used the Apothecary Accent Framelits here, which has been my most used die set for scrapbooking by far, to create a nice accent for the journaling.
The flower here was created by layering all the images from the Boho Blossom Punch. I've inked the edges with Calypso Coral and adhere with a simple brad.
This last design was the most popular! Everyone loves a butterfly! I've used both sizes of the butterfly punches, the Elegant Butterfly and the Bitty Butterfly here. Embellished with some Linen Thread and Pearls, and it looks great. Oh, and I've used the Boho Blossom Punch for the flowers again here, too!
All of the above were layered on top of the Lattice Die, also done in Vanilla.
I hope this inspires you to try scrapbooking or to make up an album of coordinating pages!
Featuring the Rain or Shine Stampin' Up! stamp set and the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper, this cute project was presented at the Hamilton Extravaganza a few weeks ago by Kristine McKnickle and Christine Palmer, adapted from an album shown to us by Julia Leece at Regional Training last year.
This was a very popular project - so fresh and fun! Done in about 40 minutes, these mini albums are a quick way to put some photos together for a gift.
Stay tuned for tomorrow! An exciting day coming up!
This was fun! I just discovered that Just Add Ink holds a scrapbooking challenge each month (where have I been??), so I gave it a go. Madeleine asked me to scrap these photos next (I find it quite cool how they are now giving me photos and asking me to scrapbook them).
Here is the sketch:
And here is my creation:
I have been hoarding these Calypso Coral polka dot sheets out of the packs for a while because I though they were so fun and happy and perfect for a layout. Happy coincidence that colour worked in with the minor photo (confess I 'made' it work!)
I LOVE the new burlap trim in the Seasonal Catalogue - had to use it on here! And paired with the ribbon rose flowers, it looks really cool. Just perfect for these shots of sort of a young vintage look.
I brought in the Wisteria Wonder to match Madeleine's hat and jacket. I'm not sure why she wore a zippered jacket with a lace dress, but the mix of elements went okay with the yin yang of these embellishments, too.
I used the Netting stamp on these Typeset letters to give it a little bit of texture. I left it as is; I didn't want this particular layout to be too fussy. The "clean vintage look" is what I call it. Perfect for the young, fresh face featured here.
Well this one was a lot of fun to make! Not your traditional wedding page, but wedding photos nonetheless.
I took this layout directly off a great sample I saw online by Sarah Webb. She used different colours and products, of course, and I changed this one up to suit my photos.
This looks so much better in real life . . .
The background is done using the chaldboard technique, and of course the black background makes the bright colours in the Sycamore STreet DSP really zing.
The Happy Day title I felt was really appropriate for this very happy and fun layout, and also with the smiling, bright pictures of the wedding. (yes, you may be looking at my wedding photos for some time yet!) My students will be able to change the title up to suit their themes.
A little collection of small items that coordinate can create an effective embellishment. I wanted to use lots of these Sycamore Street buttons on this page, but it didn't suit what I was doing. Hopefully others who do this will make use of them! They are just perfect.
Isn't it funny how you can have a whole heap of supplies out to use and find that it just won't "work" when the vision comes out on paper? Part of the fun and the challenge!
I used a wee stamp from the Ciao Baby stamp set and the Mini Curly Label Punch from the SaleABration promotion (Gee, after SAB is over you guys may have to hand cut these :)
Now one guess as to how I got that black brad? The standard black brads were way too big for what I had in my head, so I had to get creative . .
Stamping directly onto printed DSP isn't something I think to do very often, but it's very cool. Must do it more!
This is my first time working with Summer Starfruit, and it's growing on me! Paired with Pool Party, it's quite nice, actually. And Sandra so kindly wore a sweater in exactly that colour - thank you.
I will be teaching this layout:
Tuesday 12 March 7:30 pm Takanini, Auckland $15
Monday 18 March 7:30pm Birkenhead, Auckland $15
Saturday 23 March 9:30-4pm Richmond, Nelson 4 layouts $55
I love how Stampin' Up! is continually giving us brand new product! We all fell in love with the sand-able Core'Dinations cardstock last Seasonal Catalogue, and in this catalogue we have it in three more colours. (Primrose Petals, Real Red, and Pool Party). What a yummy combo those three are, too.
My scrapbooking group requested a vintage layout, so I went sort of mid-way. My photos I wanted to use are quite "clean", and I wanted to keep them that way. But you/I can still add some vintage elements without going 100% antique.
I used a Nic Howard layout ( see below) as the inspiration for my layout, although mine did not turn out a great deal like hers, just the basic layout of the photos and elements is the same.
I find it quite fun to use something as a springboard, but using your style, your supplies, and your colours, the finished product can be quite different!
I used the Pool Party Core'Dinations cardstock and the Vine STreet Embossing Folder here to ceate a small accent element. Also the words from Sweet Essentials were perfect for me here, but there are plenty of other sayings in the set to suit other photos. I realize not many will be necessarily scrapping wedding photos!
The details here on the lower left hand corner were so fun to make. The flower is made using the Blossom Party Die, some glimmer spritz, and a bit of Pink Pirouette ink.
The ribbon flowers are the best value and the most fun in the Seasonal Mini - just $14.50 for 100 of them! And so fun to spritz and colour to suit your project. I've already gone through one or two or three packs . . .
Love the butterflies . . . always a spot for a butterfly. I did this using the Rock & Roll technique to achieve the multi-coloured look to the babe. Lots of pearls to finish this off.

Happy Tuesday! I think I was woken no fewer than five times last night by blowing noses and coughs - house full of sick people right now! I'm feeling surprisingly energetic, though, as I pack to go teach a day scrapbooking class in Howick today.
We aren't doing the layout below, but I wanted to share this with you this morning. I designed this last October after seeing a white and blue one that I adored at our Stampin' Up! Regional Training. To be honest, this is nothing like the original other than the placement of the photos . . . fabulous how "inspiration" can serve to be just that and you end up with something uniquely your own.
The boys, of course, are my loving husband and lovely step-son, also the culprits of my interrupted sleep.
The footprints were fun to do, albeit slightly tricky. I bought that stamp set exactly to make a layout like this with them, but I didnt' want it to look like bunny hops. So with a little masking, I was able to create footsteps. I didn't re-ink, either, so they gradually get lighter, which is symbolic with the journaling content. Deep.
The journaling is a text Rob sent me some time ago, and I've saved it for a page. the photos are from the day we had a photo shoot for our wedding annoucement last September.
Love the clock detail - that Clockwords set is a MUST for scrapbookers or those who need masculine projects!
Have a lovely day today! Enjoy the sunshine while we still have it!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Clockworks, Daring Adventure
Colours: Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
I loved how this one turned out! Not all at the scrapbooking page I had in mind when I pulled all my Stampin' Up! gear out, but it meets approval nevertheless.
I got the initial layout shape or idea from Pinterest. That one was done in browns and oranges. The title was something I had seen at church, I believe.
The concept is to create an outline of whatever shape you'd like, and then fill it in with circles and hearts. Great way to use up all the leftover bits and pieces! In fact, I think this was the very last layout I created last year! LOL
I also have on my desk a jar of just leftover bits, like butterflies and odd buttons. I searched around in there, too, for embellishments to use. Add a bit of texture, a bit of ink and transformed!
The letters are from an OLD die set. I actually prefer the font of the cool alphabet Stampin' Up! has on offer at the moment as it's very general and doesn't compete. However, the letters were just too big for this particular title.
I die cut these with cardstock and chipboard and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder to make them a wee bit darker. You could do the same sort of effect with Crystal Effects.
Hope you enjoyed! Remember is SAle-A-Bration time! Any orders over $120 qualify for one of 18 free gifts!!
Oh, just this and that. primrose petals, Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party, Sahara Sand, and So SAffron were used. Then a bunch of leftover bits and pieces. :)
If you are like me, it's easy to flick past the Halloween items in the Holiday Catalogue. My Howick scrapbooking group asked me to design a layout using the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP. It was a challenge, but I really do LOVE what we came up with, inspired by the talented Delys Cram. She did a similar layout using Christmas papers.
The little pennants across the bottom were fun to make. The black ones were embossed using the Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder and then inked with the Illuminate ink pad. Cool look!
The title is a stamp from the set One in A Million, one that I've found quite useful for layouts and for cards. I used this one on the last layout I posted as well, the Snowflake one.
The journaling was a semi-creation; I took an existing poem and changed up some of the words so they fit with my situation.
That nice striped ribbon is also in the Halloween Section of the Holiday Catalogue. I quite like it. Masculine, but satin.
I hope you've seen the possibilities with these papers - not just Halloween! In fact, none of the prints are particularly Halloween - ish at all. More like Burberry and fun! We will be making this layout plus one more on December 10th Monday in Birkenhead.
This is a CASE off of my downline and friend, Paula Dobson. She showcased her own creation at our Heartfelt Event in September and I just fell in LOVE! Featuring the new Snowflake Soiree stamp set, isn't this stunning:
As always, these things are much prettier in real life, but some close ups will give you a good idea of the layers on here.
We did some stamping and then some embossing around the background. Finish off with some ink sponging to make the white snowflakes really stand out!
I've used the Twitterpated Riding Hood Red print here combined with the Baja Breeze print from the Floral District DSP.
The stitching is done with our very awesome Piercing template - one of the best tools ever! That and the Early Espresso Marker make for some easy stitched accents.
And love that new stamp set called One in a Million. I've used it here for my title, and I've also used it for cards for my team. I just like those nice sayings that aren't tooooo sappy.
And who doens't love that Glimmer Paper?!! Just a tiny bit goes WOW big time! Here Paula used quite a big bit for the snowflakes and I just had to copy. Even so, they don't necessarily jump out first thing.
Such a beautiful design. thanks Paula!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Snowflake Soiree, One in a Million
Colours: Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Soft Suede, Early Espresso
I used a cool sketch from PageMaps (www.pagemaps.com) for my inspiration for this layout. That and the really beautiful new papers in the Holiday Catalogue, Candlelight Christmas.
In love with the flocked acetate sheet in this series!
The background is also the great new Core'dinations cardstock, embossed and sanded to reveal some serious texture.
I used the Apothecary Accents die for the title on this page. Titles don't always have to be huge. I quite like this wee title for such a wee girl.
The main image has a delicate pierced frame around, which takes a little bit of time, but such a cool effect. And now with the BIG mat pack, it's quicker than ever!
Give this a try or come to one of our upcoming scrapbooking classes! Beginners welcome and you don't have to have a photo with you!
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Watercolor Winter, Itty Bitty Banners
Colours: Early Espresso, Primrose Petals, Real Red, Lucky Limeade
I love this layout! I don't know where the original design inspiration came from, but this is a remake of one I did up a number of years ago. Still gorgeous! (That quality of "timelessness" is a bit significant in keepsakes like this)
This layout is absolutely perfect for using up those bits and pieces. You can fill in each square with that last button, that scrap of ribbon, or some punched shapes.
Using DSP adds some cool colours and designs with little effort. I've used the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set here - an old reliable! Fingers crossed that one stays for at least another year.
Don't forget the Autumn-Winter Mini ends tomorrow!! And wednesday is the release of the Retiring/Last Chance List! Email me if you'd like to be sent the Last Chance list via email straight away.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Fabulous Phrases
Colours: Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey
Other: Twitterpated DSP, Bird Punch, Vintage Trinkets, Organdy Ribbon, Heart to Heart Punch, Seam binding Ribbon, White Staz-On

This was a lot of fun to make! Presented to us by the super-talented Delys Cram at team training last month, I finally completed mine to satisfaction this afternoon. Isn't she an amazing artist?!
It was a real pleasure to be able to do up a page with all the bits there and the idea done - it is fun to design and personalize, but it's also quite nice to have a great piece of artwork handed over on a silver platter, so to speak.
I am quite liking the use of lots of white in my work recently.
There are just under a million layers and bits to this one; it must have taken her about a year to work out how to most efficiently use the cardstock as were were only given like 3 pieces.
All the little details are great.
I had to change up the design a wee bit to fit my own photos, which is usually the way it goes and part of the beauty of scrapbooking anyway. I love it when my students/customers put their own touches on.
Both the Twitterpated DSP and the Loving Thoughts stamp set are in the Autumn/Winter Mini, so they just have a few more days of availability left!
Love this banner here; it did take me quite a while to get it placed so it didn't eat up Madeleine's face. Yes, this one was a bit of a puzzle to get all the pieces to "fit" with my photos.
Join us for a scrapbooking class! Coming to a class is a great way to get a page done without having to stress your creativity or even have all the tools in your possession.

This is a remake of a layout I did years and years ago - one that I showed at the Canberra Convention last month, too. I've used the Sweet Shoppe DSP and the Sweet Shoppe brads here for embellishment.
The layout itself uses very little materials as the majority of the page is made up of unmatted photographs! For those wanting a budget and a quick layout, this is a goodie.
Aren't these brads absolutely precious? You don't need much else to dress them up - super on their own.
My little tag on the side was made by extending the large tag punch a wee bit and using those delicious textured papers from the Sweet Shoppe pack! A simple sparkly heart made out of scraps nicely finished this and ties in the colours.
My title was made using the Simple Serif Dies from Stampin' Up! - these are my most used dies ever. Again, I used some scrap cardstock and cut the letters out of both chipboard and cardstock.
The girls and I played around with this and decided to heat emboss the letters with the Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Just enough bling to stand out, but not too overwhelming. Plus, it darkened the cardstock just a tad, which gives a nice difference between the title and the rest of the page.
Very cool!
My intention was to use the coordinating Mouthwatering set with this page, but it just didn't need it in the end. There you are - a very nice layout using a smidge of DSP, four brads, some chipboard, and some scrap card!
Join us for a scrapbooking class! Next one in birkenhead TONIGHT 7:30pm. Howick is August 2nd, and Nelson is August 21st.
Supplies Used:
Colours: Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade

It's taken me days to put this together! It's strongly inspired by a layout in our gorgeous Idea Book & Catalogue, but I didn't have all the same gear and wanted different colours . . . I had fun playing around and threw away a LOT of cardstock and ribbon in the process!! Sofie and I are happy with the final result.
These photos are from 2006 when Sofie turned four and had a frog birthday party. The crown is one that sits in our china hutch and we only get to wear it on our birthdays .. . I just love all these fun expressions I grabbed of her while her daddy was reading stories to the group.
The top corner has just a bit of printed paper, scraps of ribbon, and a single button for embellishments. That scallop circle stamp is from the Circle Circus set, another one that I haven't used hardly enough. It's fun and gorgous.
I loved using a splash of the silver Glitter Paper on this layout - these papers are still available even though they are not listed in any of the current catalogues. Love them! Must get more!
And my scrapbooking ladies will learn some colouring techniques with these cute little animals in the Under the Big Top stamp set. This is a good way to tie all the colours in this layout together. Simple Circle Punch and layer with the good old Scallop Circle - easy!
I hand wrote the journaling and then hand cut it for an uneven look. Let's hope all the new ladies in class tonight like it!

I am going to share this layout with my scrapbooking class this Saturday in Nelson - I am so looking forward to the day!
This is one I shared at Convention (or a version of it, actually), that I made up using strips of the Well Worn DSP leftover from this layout.
I did use a few non-Stampin' Up! items on this one, as I was just playing and using up bits and pieces I had in my drawers and scraps on the table.
My favorite bit about this layout is the title - I just love how that all worked together here.
I absolutely love the Word Play set - certainly a VERY usable and versatile one for scrapbooking and cards alike. I used the Stampin' Write Markers here to colour in various parts of the title, the Heart to Heart punch and a scrap, and the Game Spinner Hands. It's just a perfect combination! Love it!
Come along to a scrapbooking class, even if you have never done it before! Beginners always welcome ~
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Word Play set of twelve
Colours: Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze, Riding Hood Red, Early Espresso, River Rock
Other: Vintage Bards, Game Spinner Hands, Metallic Brads, Well Worn DSP, Non SU sticker and skeleton leaves

Hot off the press! Going out teaching tonight and just finished this a few hours ago!! Nothing like being super fresh in the mind before you teach a project . . . I meant to do this before I left for Australia, but time got away.
I used a sample in the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Magazine (Impressions) July 2011 as the inspiration for this one. Much of the sample's product was retired, so it was a bit of a trick to find replacements. However, we have such a LARGE assortment of products available, I think this worked out effectively:
Using the Mixed Bunch Stamp set and the Blossom Party Die, I was able to create a MASS of flowers! My three daughters love this page. It's not my typical style, but all three girls sure love this. What do you think?
I used the Timeless Type Die cuts for the Dance word, and the Loving Thoughts set for the "always". I just markered up the bit that I wanted, and omitted the rest. I love the font on that set!
We'll see how the ladies go! My favorite classes to teach these days are layout classes as everyone has a different take, and I learn from you as well!
If you can't make tonight, please join us in making this layout:
June 18th Monday in Birkenhead 7:30pm $15
or June 30th Nelson all day $55 (we may or may not make this one - exact four layouts we are making TBD - we'll see how the other two groups go for time and then decide . . . )
This was a lovely project presented to us at the Demonstrator Stamp Camp in March by Ria Kaire. We all really enjoyed making this - and I titled mine up so I had a little album for an upcoming weekend in Waipu.
And typical me, I didnt' get it entirely done until the night before we left for the trip!!
And one of Ria's famous embellishments is the chipboard letters covered in coloured glitter and then with Crystal Effects. It's a two day process, but the effect is stunning:
The inside of the album features a waterfall elements where with the pull of a tab, the flaps flip out:
Now silly me I didnt' show it on pics! But each of the small pictures on the flaps slides up to reveal hidden journaling. It was a very very cool project with lots of wow to it!!
And Ria introduced us to the Well Worn papers, the same papers I used in my last layout. They are yummy!
Thank you, Ria, for a wonderful project and for this beautiful keepsake of our awesome weekend!
