Fast becoming a "go-to stamp set", the Painted Petals images are beautiful and so versatile. Designed to stamp with a watercoloured look, they lend the appearance of hand-made to your projects.
I had inspiration for all of these from looking online at various things people had done, and then simplified them down to make this set of quick, one-layered cards.
I haven't listed the colours exactly below, because you can use anything you've got on hand and just match a bit of twine or ribbon to the blossoms.
The images are easy to line up, especially if you use the Clear or Photopolymer options. But they are designed to be a bit of a "free" look, so precise placement not required for stunning results. Phew!
Don't forget today is a new week of the weekly deals! Cardstock and the Envelope Punch Board on discount this week!
It's been a very busy and fun month with our team Extravaganzas around New Zealand! Yesterday was our inaugural Extravaganza in Nelson, and I will be adding both Wellington and Napier to the rounds next time!
I'd like to share with you today four of the five projects done in Hamilton (the fifth one is mine and is yet to be done in Auckland, so I'll share after this weekend):
Presented by Irene Wardlaw and Rayleen Baker, our guests learned this lovely wedding card with a fun pop out feature. This is a nice use of the Something Borrowed series I featured in my post on Friday, too.
This little Easter Egg box was presented by Alicia Yap and Kristine McNickle. My Easter Egg is not there anymore. . . .
A simple pocket fold card taught by Christine Palmer and Sarah Roche, featuring the Irresistibly Yours papers in the SaleABration brochure. Plus everyone's favorite butterfly!
Bev Poultney and Kirstie Goldfinch taught this fun slider card, also using a SaleABration stamp set.
Big thanks to all my guests and my team for making this another super day!!
Join us for our next Extravaganzas!
May 23 Napier
July 18 Wellington
July 19 Hamilton
July 25 Auckland
August 1 Tauranga
August 8 Nelson
August 15 Napier
I challenged myself to use the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper and the Artisan Kit to create a timeless, "clean vintage" layout. This one is yet another one of my girls when they were bridesmaids . . . the fact is: those photos in those colours work in so well with many of the Stampin' Up! colours! Lucky that.
The papers are the Something Borrowed series, a lovely set of all Sahara Sand prints. I created that background shape using the Simply Scored Border Plate - a nice effect.
I LOVE how this flower turned out! Using only the Pansy Punch, I've crinkled it up in my hand, inked the edges and layered them together. That gorgeous embellishment in the centre is also from the Something Borrowed series. ($14.50 for 12)
Those yummy ribbon roses are from the Artisan kit, along with the velvet ribbon, too.
And that resist paper above is one of the many FREE SaleABration offerings - order now before March 31 when they disappear!! Shopping list below:
Enjoy your weekend! I'm off to Nelson in the morning to spend the day crafting with the ladies there!
Today has seen a few fun announcements!
Due to the Blendabilities being deleted from the SaleABration offering, Stampin' Up! has now added the following to your selection. Choose any item with any order of $110 or more - no limit! :
And the Weekly Deals count towards that sales total as well!
The items on discount this week include the Mosaic Madness Punch, the Mosaic Folder, and more!
Thanks for stopping by! Just a reminder, I'm moving blog platforms and my new blog is ready to go, so in the next few days when you come visit me - it will look different! You are in the right place, though! :)
I like to have a little pile of cards ready to go for encouraging and celebrating my Stampin' Up! team's successes, and here is a great idea (found on pinterest) for some cards you can make up in just a few minutes that look great!
The background is made using the ever-popular Work of Art and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets and four colours of ink. Then stamp any large sentiment of your choice in black over the top!
A little glitter never hurt!
Don't forget - buy any of the supplies listed below (or of your choice) totally $110 or more and receive a free SaleABration stamp set or accessory!
Thanks for reading!
Life is back to "normal"! I had the pleasure of having one of my many cousins here last week, which was so fun. I hadn't seen him since I was a child, and luckily, at 45 he's still a great guy! He came down to help my husband get set up in a new business, so hopefully he will be coming back often!
I wanted to share with you some table favours I made up for my Team Leaders at Stamp Camp last month. These are simple, but really love, particularly for a birthday party, a high tea or a wedding:
These were easy to make using the new Berry Basket Die. You don't have to, but I used both the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper and Sahara Sand Cardstock (double layer) to create the base for strength.
The embellishment from there is simple - just one of those gorgeous Butterfly Dies with a bit of coordinating Twine and all clipped on with a Mini Metallic Clothespin.
Try this for your next party favour! I have discovered a cool way to easily cut these butterflies - video coming!
Remember any order of $110 earns free products!
Hi, there! I've been MIA this last week as my cousin is here visiting from the USA and it's been lovely to catch up and share some funny memories. I did have a class on Monday and we tried something a little different - home decor!
This fun idea came from Juliette Riddell, one of my fabulous team members, who shared this idea at our recent Team Stamp Camp. Can you work out how this is done?
We had a lot of fun - I put out scraps of card and everyone's turned out differently:
EAch of us used the Pansy Punch for the flowers and the Flower Frenzy Die for the leaves. Then just buttons and brads for the centures.
Have you worked it out?
It's fun to do something off the page here and there! Use these for a seasonal theme or neutral to fit any decor or specific to a particular room. Fun!
Join me for a class - I'll be doing these at some this month!
Hamilton Extravaganza 15 March $45 5 projects 10 am
W Auckland Scrapping 19 March $15 7:30pm
Highland Park Class 24 March $15 7:30pm
Takanini Class 26 March $15 7:30pm
Auckland Extravaganza 28 March $35 5 projects 12:30pm
Well I finally got out my Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and used it! We had so many swaps at camp that used it; it's been so popular! I hadn't used mine as of yet, but the clever ladies who figured out how to make it into more like a grocery sack inspired me to give it a go!
The inspiration for the bag front was from a card designed by Sandi MacIver
The new Sheer Perfection Vellum stack has a number of designs suitable for "colouring on the back with markers" - such a nice look. The Vellum has also been mounted over top of the Typeset printed papers.
I found a nice tutorial by Inge Groot on how to make create a gusseted bag instead of a flat bag. The instructions are in Dutch, but the pictures are easy to follow. Thanks, Inge!
The Vellum stack, the coordinating stamp set, and the pack of Twine & Buttons are all additional SaleABration Items that you can receive for FREE with any order of $110!
Thanks for reading!
Reaching for an old favorite, Choose Happiness is a set that has a variety of lovely images great for layering. And my personal favorite style is a "clean vintage" sort with a few vintage elements with just a little bit of grunge combined with white space.
The Burlap ribbon can be cut with the Scallop Trim Thinlits Die! and that's a fun look. You could fray it up a bit, too.
I separate the thick Crisp Cataloupe twine for just a few strands to go through the button. And the good news is this twine is on the Weekly Deals this week!
I sent out my March newsletter today - did you receive your copy?
This is a quick to put together layout great for showcasing pretty papers! Here I've used the coordinating SaleABration Products (Best Day Ever stamp set with the Best Year Ever Designer Series Papers and Accessory Pack) to create a "no thinking" project!
Coordinating paper packs make it easy to match up prints. I've used five different prints on the above layout!
Now just because a stamp image is "all in one" doesn't mean you can't separate them. The title above is all one stamp. I just stamped the cardstock and cut the words apart.
Strategically cut strips of paper to capture a perfect row of a print. The flower is made with the new Flower Medallion punch, which layers up so nicely with the Pansy Punch.
Any of the above printed papers, the stamp set, or the ribbon & buttons are FREE with any order of $110 - no limit!
Four new items added to the SaleABration offerings! Valid today until 31 March, receive any item in the SaleABration Brochure or the flyer for FREE with any order of $110!
No limit!

This is the project I made for my swap card at our team stamp camp last weekend - a simple card with a bit of a wow factor! This design was inspired by Melissa Stout and her lovely design:
You're getting the extra bonus of my thumb this time! The more proper photos I took were far too dark, so you are getting this "natural" shot today.
I've used the Painted Petals stamp set here and paired it with the Hello You Thinlit dies for a clean, but effective, look.
Don't forget you get a FREE SaleABration item of your choice with a purchase of $110!
Well I seem to be on a theme the last few months with my altering up inexpensive little notebooks! But it really gives me a buzz to take something very ordinary and make it very extra special. My design below was inspired by the talented Kimberly Van Diepen.
My theme for my presentation at my team Stamp Camp was the Butterfly Basics Suite, which included the Butterfly Basics stamp set, the Butterfly dies, and the Artisan Embellishment Kit:
I've covered the notebook using the Kraft cardstock and then embellished from there. Aren't those butterflies just so lovely?
The leaf/fern stamp in the Butterfly Basics stamp set was stamped using our Whisper White kraft ink. A scattering of both pearls and sequins (the sequins are on sale this week!) finishes it off nicely.

Hi All, I've been a bit MIA the last week or so because I've been super busy preparing for my annual team training weekend in Rotorua. Now I can share with you all the great projects I've been preparing from the Occassions Catalogue!
But first I wanted to share some pictures and highlights from the weekend.
We had in total five creative classes, with five wonderful teachers presenting product suites and then a project we all did together. As always, what my wonderful team comes up with is very humbling. And makes me appreciate all they have to offer more and more.
We had a great turn out this year and many demonstrators attended for the first time. I hope they (and all of us) left inspired, encouraged, and that little bit more confident.
Here I am presenting. Talked and laughed so much over the weekend, I drove home with a sore throat!
Every year we do a service project, and this year we made over 130 thank you cards to donate to KidsCan. The ladies were given a challenge with the design (prizes were to be won) and every single card we will donate to them is so different from the next. I know they will appreciate the variety and the love that went into it. Again, I was very humbled at people's generosity with their time and talents.
And here we all are: happy, exhausted, and heading home!
Don't forget you also can join our wonderful team for $189! And during February and March, you get to choose any kit from the Occassions Catalogue along with your $285 worth of product!
Hi, Readers! I'm sorry for my absence last week; I've been both to and from Australia and very occupied preparing for my Team Stamp Camp this weekend. I won't share the projects for that just yet, but will do after our big event!
I just wanted to quickly share with you this easy project - just one stamp, Vivid Vases, and our notecard and envelopes (see supply list below).
I've coloured the image in with the Blendabilities pens. While I'm no Picasso, the Blendabilities do offer even us average folks a way to mak something quite good looking!
Simply blend the various shades and beautiful!
Even better: get the blendabilities for FREE during SaleABration! Any $110 order qualifies for a free pack of Blendabilities ($25.95 value).
I wanted to make a few extra Valentine's Cards this year for some special people (female friends), and the Just Add Ink Colour Challenge this week gave me a little inspiration:
I like those colours together! I whipped up a very simple card, but one I quite like:
Great design for using up leftover bits and pieces!
Give this rich colour combo a try!
The Hello You sentiment so popular right now was the perfect thing for a somewhat unusual gift project : a Pen Pal folder for the girls at church to make for a "sister congregation" in the USA.
I used the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge as a starting point and a few different pen pal folder ideas off of Pinterest.
I used the new papers, Birthday Bash, fast becoming a go-to series. Loving the fun colours!
The edges are covered in Washi Tape - you'll see why when you see the inside:
I've made a super simple pocket inside and adhered it on with the Washi Tape by folding it over the edges. Added a bit more of the Birthday Bash DSP.
The two cello bags and the pocket can be filled with anything you like! I thought a little kiwiana and something for their church group would be fitting.
I hope the girls in the USA enjoy receiving these folders from our girls here in New Zealand!
I am sending out my February Newsletter in the next two days. If you are not yet signed up to receive notifcation of promotions and upcoming events, please sign up here:
Good morning, readers! It's almost Valentine's Day, and I've been having a good play with the new You Plus Me stamp set. It's a great one for fresh, clean lines.
The Just Add Ink team had a challenge this week to follow this sketch:
And I wanted to make it masculine.
Clean lines and vivid colours!
But it's more than a cute card - there is a treat inside. Because who doesn't appreciate a little gift, too?
When the chocolate bar is pulled out by the tab, the card portion slides out as well. Fun!
And of course, the "You're Sweet" had to be included!
Supply List Below!

Welcome to a new week and another Creative Inker's Blog Hop! You may have come to me from Bernie Collins' blog - welcome!
I'd like to share with you an "add on" to a blog post I shared last week. It was part of a larger project: revamping my step-son's bedroom! Let's just say we used to call it the dungeon. :) The room is now a teenager hang-out:
Was a lot of repairing holes, painting, scrubbing . . . .
(I am in the process of sewing up a proper slipcover . . . )
My dear husband hand made those cool "box" shelves for us. On the Caribbean Cruise last year, Stampin' Up! had some covered books on shelves on display, so I took that idea and used it here.
Instead of books, I used just some 10 cent notebooks. A couple of them I glued two together for a thicker "book".
You can see the first one here, posted last week.
I used the Adventure Awaits stamp set for all five notebooks. I actually really like this word set; the sayings are quite good and the design fun. Great for masculine projects and scrapbooking titles, too!
And I have just fallen in love with the fact one can design these little home decor items to match the decor perfectly!
Thanks for stopping by!

Who wouldn't want to receive a basket of chocolate kisses?! The new Berry Basket die is a great project to make masculine or make to suit any project theme!
I made the little "tag" using the Heart Framelits and the new You Plus Me stamp set - a really nice one not just for Valentine's, but for any project expressing affection. So cute!
And chocolate kisses were the only treat of choice for this one! I'm sure my husband will love this! In fact, I'm sure the basket is a little less full than it was yesterday . . .
And then we made up a quick, coordinating notecard using the You Plus Me stamp set and a always-winning colour combo of Basic Black and Real Red.
Have a look at how easy these baskets are to put together:

Welcome to another Creative Inkers Team Blog Hop! You may have come to me from the happy Bernie Collins' blog - thank you! I have the honour of "working" with a group of talented ladies who love to come together and enjoy each other's company and creations. Tonight we'd like to share with you projects from the SaleABration Catalogue.
I am not one to start with a blank canvas, and used the Around the World Sketch as inspiration:
I used the new Lotus Blossom stamp set - a gorgeous triple-step stamp set you can get for FREE with any $110 order from your demonstrator.
Here I've used it with Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss inks. I found that the longer I let the ink sit and dry, the better and better the image looked.
I pulled the new Cotton Twine apart and paired just a few strands of it with the LInen Thread for a softer look.
Thanks for stopping by and come back next Monday night for the Occasions Catalogue Blog Hop!
Next, check out what the talented Rachael Knight has created for you!

One of the really great new kits in the Occasions Catalogue is the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Kit - a great way to keep track of birthdays for yourself and also makes a wonderful gift!
The clipboard allows for the months to be interchanged, keeping the whole thing light enough to put on the refrigerator (if you want).
Each month has its own stamp and images. I changed it around a bit to suit the southern hemisphere, but that is part of the beauty of being able to customize!
I've left mine blank for the moment because I think I might send this one to my mother, along with a big pack of birthday cards.
Join us for the Perpetual Calendar Class 28 February (Saturday) 10 am to about 4pm.
Class fee is $50 and will include:
* Perpetual Calendar Kit
* Use of inks and stamps
* Six birthday cards ( 2 each of three designs)
Or click below to order your kit to make at home!
I am in the midst of another home decorating project, and the Freshly Made Sketches inspired me to add a little bit more to what I was doing - full scope of the project to be shared next week!
So I am altering notebooks I have in my cupboard and used the above and the new Adventure Awaits stamp set as a starting point:
I had fun making the sentiment interesting and bright - and I've always loved those clothespins but found them a bit bulky for many projects. This was perfect!
And one of favorite colours - Bermuda Bay - is now in sequins! Had to use those! The notebook background is from the new paper series, Birthday Bash.
All of these new products are just so fresh and fun! Check out my supply list below:
Join us for class next Wednesday 21 Jan 7:30pm in Birkenhead, Auckland!
Butterfly Basics was the first collection I ordered last month in preparation for the new Occasions Catalogue - love the clean vintage look! Plus the variety of images in this set make it very versatile.
The last few weeks Rob and I have totally made over three rooms in our house - from paint to clean to different furniture to a new colour palette. One of the rooms is my youngest daughter, Sofie's, bedroom. It was more than worse for wear . . she has lived in there since she was three and it had not been repainted or gutted since then. Plus, she's almost 13 and it was time for a more grown-up look.
She was very specific in her colour choices, which makes finding wall art or decor a bit tricky. The beauty of creating YOUR OWN art is you can have it fit exactly your colour scheme!
An added bonus is you can make these sorts of things using very few consumable supplies - great for those decorating on a small budget.
You could even add a family name or a child's name here. Great for a baby shower gift or a very special wedding gift, too!
What do you think? Anybody would love a one-of-a-kind work of art in their room, especially if they got to help create it or if it was made just for them. Give it a try! Supply list below and I would love to answer any questions!
