Every time I create a scrapbook layout using my Stampin Up supplies, I wonder why I don't do this more often.
My Thames ladies challenged me to make a scrapbooking layout using a Christmas card from last year as inspiration. They just loved the vintage look and the use of the Winter Post stamp set.
Just like making a quilt, you can make a relatively small focal point much bigger simply by adding more layers and borders.
I've used here the LOVELY flocked Christmas Cocoa papers - available just for a few more days in the Dressing Up Christmas Promotion. They are just yummy~! And I've only used a few inches here - you can get miles of use out of one pack of 12x12's.
And also part of the Dressing Up Christmas promotion is you get FREE ribbons - exclusive ribbons to this promotion. The above are two of the five ribbons on offer. I just love that twill and am using it as much as possible in my classes the next few days!
My girls were not happy I chose this picture because Kjristi is crying, Sofie has a blood nose, and Madeleine is missing some teeth. Well, my theory is "this is real life and it's worth treasuring!" In my opionion, this is as worthy of scrapbooking as one of those pictures of the whole family standing in a wheat field in matching denim. Probably more so if I were to be really honest.
Stamps: En Francais 40.95, Winter Post $58.96
Colours: Real Red, Old OLive, Early Espresso, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist
Other: Photo Corner Punch, Metallic Brads, Jumbo Chocolate Chip brads, Ribbons, snot blaster
What a wonderful way to use that stamp set! I would never have thought touse it on a scrapbook LO but you've made it look divine. It's good to scrap those 'not so perfect photos' too. I'm sure the girls will have a good laugh when they look back on them in years to come.
